| What's That Smell? |
Cabin Filters Help Clean the Air Inside Your Vehicle
All of the air that passes through your HVAC system must go through the cabin filter first. The cabin filter, filters out common air particles like dust, pollen, spores, bacteria, pollutants and odors. The filter can trap particles as small as 3 microns, by contrast a grain of sand is about 200 microns.
A clean cabin filter can improve the air quality in your vehicle. When the filter becomes clogged up, it will reduce air flow of your air conditioner, and can even get kind of smelly. Remember all of the pollen that was covering everything in the spring? If you have not changed your cabin filter since then, it's still trapped in your cabin filter.
When Should the Cabin Filter Be Replaced?
Normally the cabin filter should be replaced every year, or 12,000 miles. If you drive in dusty environments, especially area's near construction work, you may need to replace your filter more often. Note: Not all cars are equipped with a cabin filter, about 40% of the vehicles on the road today have them. If you are not sure, come in to Action and we will check yours for you.
Save $5.00 on replacing your Cabin, Air, or Fuel Filter!
