"Tagalong" 20" x 24" (50.8cm x 61.0cm) Oil on Linen This painting is my homage to the Victorian love of beauty. "I have no politics and no Party and no particular hope," wrote Edward Coley Burne-Jones (painter) in a letter to his friend William Morris (poet) in 1894 [both second generation Pre-Raphaelites]; "only this is true: that beauty is very beautiful, and softens, and comforts, and inspires, and rouses and lifts up, and never fails." I could not have said it better.
