"Silvered Wings" 36" x 24" (91.4cm x 61.0cm) Oil on Linen "This painting holds a lot of symbolism for me, in that it speaks of my borderline obsession with Bernini and my fascination with the idea of angels. What Bernini did with marble is what I aspire to do with oil paint, which is to capture a narrative moment with dramatic naturalistic realism. So here we have my narrative in which the human stands on the Ponte Sant'Angelo between winged nature at her most basic and winged nature at her most sublime towering above, all surrounded by human made structure."

Q & A
Do your paintings come framed?
Yes. All of Valerie's paintings are sold with frames. The dealer's carrying Valerie's work are authorized to sell the paintings without frames if the collector prefers.
The studio has contracted Covington Art and Frame (985-893-6166) for the framing of Valerie's recent paintings. The owner, Gail Gullang, is a true craftsman and delivers museum quality frames to showcase Valerie's Paintings. Here are a few images with the new frames:
