Summer Day Camp Starts June 19!

In addition to the 1st through 4th level camps, we have a new Show Group camp. Details and enrollment forms are available on the website. To insure your place, weeks 1 & 2  should be paid by May 15; weeks 3, 4 & 5 by June 15; & weeks 6-10 by July 15.

Mill Creek Combined Test and Dressage Show, DATE CHANGE TO MAY 6

This will be for all riders from 2nd level up through Beginner Novice. Riders will ride a dressage test and jump a course of jumps appropriate to their level.  

 

There will be ribbons and prizes for each level.

 

For Dressage Riders:

 

Lindsay Smith will be running practice dressage classes with a judge and ribbons in the afternoon on May 6. You can ride your test of choice.

And of course we have the Olympic Games to look forward to this summer! (July 27 - August 12, London)

We're sending out another newsletter this month because we have some important scheduling updates to report. First, we have moved the Combined Test/Dressage Show from April 22 to May 6. I apologize for the inconvenience, but it turns out I will be in Europe looking for horses for clients that weekend.  Also, I'd like to let you know that the Mill Creek Spring Horse Show is scheduled for May 27. I hope to see you all there!

We had a great first Horses in the Hood camp for 2012 with St. John's United Methodist Church. I was very pleased with McKenzie and all the wonderful Mill Creekers who volunteered their time all week to help with this important program. Thank you all!

Many Local Hunter/Jumper Shows  

A number of upcoming local shows are great for our 3rd level and up riders! 

 

Riverview Pony Club Show Jumping Derby: 

  • April 22: This show has jumps from 12 inches to 3 feet. There is $700 in prize money and it's located at nearby Hansen Dam in Sylmar.  

Trancas Riders and Ropers (Malibu): 

  • June 24: English Hunters 2
  • August 5: English Hunters 3
  • September 9: Jumpers 3 
  • October 21: Shrimp Show (for riders 12 & under)

For all shows, check in the office for details and sign-ups. School horses will be available for these shows. We will need 10 riders attending each show in order to make the shows cost effective for everyone.

Congratulations Jordyn Horwitz! 

Jordyn and her horse Nicodemus had a successful show at Galway Downs!

Congratulations to Jordyn Horwitz, who was the Young Rider Champion in the CIC One Star at Galway Downs International Horse Trials & Three Day Event (March 29 - April 1) on her horse Nicodemus.

The pair placed 6th overall in the division.

The Easter Egg Hunt  was a success!
