Come join us for our popular annual Easter Egg Hunt! Many prizes available, such as Easter Baskets, Free Lessons, and candy! Come a little before noon--younger kids will get to start the hunt first. Bring your friends and family. |
Mill Creek Combined Test and Dressage Show, April 22
|
This will be for all riders from 2nd level up through Beginner Novice. Riders will ride a dressage test and jump a course of jumps appropriate to their level.
There will be ribbons and prizes for each level.
For Dressage Riders:
Lindsay Smith will be running practice dressage classes with a judge and ribbons in the afternoon on April 22. You can ride your test of choice.

Greetings!
Once again we have a full Summer Day Camp Program planned, which begins June 19 and runs through September 2 (see the left column for links). This year we will also have a Day Camp for our Beginner Novice and Novice eventing riders who are beginning showing and hoping to own their own horse. There will be Training Level Dressage with Lindsay, 2' - 2'6" jumping, trail rides, trips to an auction and a mustang challenge, plus a schooling at Moor Park. This Show Group will be taught by Cory, Lindsay and McKenzie. Please note that my afternoon lessons will be discontinued until September and I will post the dates for the field trips as soon as possible.I'm looking forward to another full Summer at Mill Creek!

Goodbye Jedi and Bows
A Note from Cory 
To have lost two of my wonderful boys in one week was so painful. Jedi, like Bows never said NO! He also came from the same auction. Jedi was the perfect size and wonderfully built. He had been abused and was so fearful of everyone and even after being here at Mill  Creek for 12 years, he was still untrusting of people. I will never forget either of my two special boys. There were my best teaching assistants. I loved them both! |

Update on Mette & Her Clients
All had a great show at the Dressage Affaire in Del Mar in March.  | |
Mette riding Anne Solbraekke's horse, Rico, at the Dressage Affaire in Del Mar.

Mette's show in Del Mar was another one of her success stories. She rode Hertzregent, the very fancy 5 year old, who has competed 8 times, winning 7 classes and one second place. He is owned by Finally Partners. Mette also rode Rico, the Chestnut gelding owned by Anne Solbraekke, in three FEI classes and won all three. In the Prix St. Georges, Mette had the high score ride with 78%. Anna, Mette's assistant, rode her home-bred horse, Lourdes, to high score open champion. Adrian Bessy did a great job and was 1st and 2nd in her two classes at Del Mar.  | |
Anna, Mette's Assistant, took her horse, Lourdes, to his first horse show at the LAEC Mid Winter in February and were the High point champions of the show with a percentage of 77.4!! Cory said she wanted to have that in the next news letter. Lourdes is a five year old gelding and was bred by Anna's parents in Sweden.

New School Horse - Popcorn
Mill Creek welcomes Popcorn! Popcorn is a super cute 15.3 hand Appaloosa gelding. He used to belong to Eventer Jennifer Wooten and Karene brought him to Mill Creek in March 2012. He was born in 1998. He jumps and will be used in 4th Level, Beginner Novice, Novice and adult classes. He is honest and an all around good guy!

Buckets! Buckets! Buckets!
A Message from Cory
 Buckets:
PLEASE: Mill Creek will only allow dark green buckets to be used in the barn or corrals. Also, please no lose buckets, toys, etc. in the stalls.
Wet Feed:
Please do not make your feed so wet. It is a terrible mess. It draws flies to your horse's face and nose and it is impossible to clean off the stall walls and feed tubs.
