Dear ,

The Northeastern California SBDC service centers have been busy over the past two months responding to requests for assistance from businesses struggling as a result of the fires in Northeastern California. If your small business has been negatively impacted by the fires (directly - due to damage, or indirectly, by lost customers), please reach out to our service centers to see how we might be able to help.  Over the coming weeks, we will be releasing information about special programs available for businesses which have been impacted.

Our first story below is a reminder about an assistance meeting to help community members in Manton, California.

Jimdo is launching Smallbizrocket.com. The purpose of this site is to offer small businesses free hosting of a business website and domain name for one year.  More information is available below.

In September the Northeastern California SBDC in Chico will be holding it's 14th annual Women's Business Conference.  See the article below with more information about the speakers and topics.  Additionally, the Northeastern California SBDC in Redding, partnered with the Business Entrepreneurship Center in Redding, will be hosting a series of technology workshops.  This newsletter is full of information about upcoming events available to support regional entrepreneurs.

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Tehama County will hold a one-day local assistance center to help those affected by
the Ponderosa Fire.

The center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Manton Volunteer Fire
Station, 31200 Manton Road, in Manton.

Residents affected by the fire will be able to meet with local service providers and
county representatives to learn what resources are available to help recover from fire
damage. Officials will also use the center as a way to put together a community needs
assessment.

Agencies and government departments to have representatives on hand include the
county assessor, animal control, the Red Cross, Franchise Tax Board and the
Department of Insurance Contractors State License Board.

Please note that eligibility for low-interest rate loans from the Small Business
Administration will not be determined by Sept. 6.

Information also is available by phone Sept. 6 at 474-3012.
