Small Business California Survey

Dear ,

Taking the pulse of small business in California is challenging.  We're all too busy in our businesses to take time to e-mail our elected officials, or talk to the media about the problems we face.  Luckily, Small Business California has designed the largest survey of California small businesses, and circulates this survey annually throughout regional business associations, chambers, and other business networks.  The result is the most comprehensive "pulse" of the issues, challenges, and opportunities facing small businesses in California.  The results of this survey are taken to the State Capitol and Capitol Hill for our regional and national leaders to review.
The survey is now being circulated, and now is your chance to make your voice here.  Please click the link below and tell us what is happening with your small business.

National Business Association Teams Up with Small Business Administration to Provide Small Business Resources to Combat the Recession

February 1, 2011

The National Business Association (NBA) announced that it officially signed a Strategic Alliance Memorandum (SAM) with the United States Small Business Administration. The primary purpose of the strategic alliance is to fulfill a common mission shared by the SBA and NBA of helping start, maintain and expand small businesses.

The mission of the SBA is to aid, counsel, assist and protect the interests of small business by providing financial, contractual and business development assistance and advocating on their behalf within the government. SBA district offices deliver SBA programs and services to the public. Though the SBA and NBA are independent and separate entities, their collective services and resources, when delivered in coordination with each other, will provide maximum benefits to the small business communities served. "We at SBA are excited about this renewed relationship with NBA" said Herbert Austin, District Director of SBA Dallas/Fort Worth Office.  Read More

By Dr. ChulAn Choi

Hello! I am very pleased to introduce myself to you through this Newsletter. I am ChulAn Choi, from South Korea. I came here as a visiting scholar and work at NEC SBDC now. Maybe I will stay here until January of next year (2012). I have worked at Small and Medium Business Administration of Korea for 18 years and plan to keep going on this work as long possible. So I am studying here about small business; start-up, growth, management, investment, etc. Especially, I am interested in SBDCs and SBICs. If you have any information or advice about these systems, Please share your information with me. It will be a big help for my study.
