Planning for 2011

Dear ,

We just returned from our annual planning retreat, crafting our strategies for supporting regional entrepreneurs in 2011.  The challenges are great, but for the first time in over a decade, we have new support to respond to the overwhelming demand for our services.  Recently Congress approved expanded funding for the SBDC program to provide additional 1 on 1 pre-paid consulting time to regional entrepreneurs in Northeastern California.  Additionally, the State of California (Senate and Assembly) voted to restore State funding to the Northeastern California SBDC Program.  These two funding streams will allow our five regional service centers to expand their available staff time to respond to your requests for services.   We expect these new dollars to be on the street within days, so please contact your local SBDC for services.  If you would like to partner with the local SBDC to support regional entrepreneurs, please contact your local office by clicking the local office link (to the left).

We look forward to a busy Fall, and strong economic growth in 2011.

CALIFORNIA SMALL BUSINESS NEWS
FREE Webinar, Workers' Comp 2011

The upcoming elections will bring significant changes to Sacramento, and the next governor will have sweeping authority to alter California's workers' compensation system. Meanwhile, California's system once again ranks among the most expensive in the nation in 2010 . Employers are paying more for workers' compensation, as higher medical treatment costs and destabilizing court rulings have driven up the price of injury claims by more than 50% since 2005.Whether you are small business or large public agency, this educational session brought to you by leading employer organizations will help you anticipate coming changes and be part of needed solutions in 2011.

Join us for a FREE WEBINAR on Wednesday, November 17th to learn about how the upcoming elections and changes in California's workers' compensation system will affect your organization's future budget and bottom-line.

This event is co-hosted by the California Coalition on Workers' Compensation and the Workers' Compensation Action Network.
