Amanda Davis receives Community Service Award The Syracuse-Dunbar-Avoca Education Association held their annual Spring Fling on May 23rd in the commons area of the new middle school. Mary Staack, Karen Windhorst and Amanda Davis were presented awards for Community Service. Shannon Clayton presented the awards.
Staack and Windhorst were honored for their work with the music program. "It just boggles my mind that I was entitled to this. It's a nice honor," said Staack.
Amanda Davis, Youth Coordinator for Partners for Otoe County, coordinates the Rockets After School Clubs and the Study Buddies Tutoring Program at the school. Davis commented, "It's a nice honor...Very humbling. My work with the youth is rewarding to me. I appreciate the support of the staff and volunteers who make the programs possible here at the school."

Two Scholarships Needed for Summer Art Camp at the KHN July 25th -29th
Donations are currently needed to provide $40 scholarships for two students for Summer Art Camp. The scholarships are for students whose families would otherwise not be able to afford having their child participate.
