Dear Spiritual Partners,
What can we learn from the discord and dysfunction that surrounds us? As we move into the 21st Millennium a growing chaos has replaced familiar personal, social, and international circumstances. Global environment degradation. Global recession, except in China. Endless wars. Destructive political discord. Horrifying poverty and unimaginable wealth expanding side by side. There is a reason for this. A new kind of power is replacing the old kind of power, and everything that is built on the old kind of power is becoming dysfunctional. The old kind of power is the ability manipulate and control, and it now produces only violence and destruction. This is external power. The new kind of power is the alignment of the personality with the soul, and it produces only health, wholeness, and well-being. This is authentic power.
You were born to create authentic power (see the Message from Gary for an example).
The Seat of the Soul Institute will always support you in creating authentic power.

MESSAGE FROM GARY:
Spiritual Activists
 The salvage of America’s largest banks and most inefficient industries with tax-payer money and the enormous reductions in care to young, old, poor, ill, handicapped, and frail Americans at the same time has focused rage and ridicule on Congress. In simpler times, electing better representatives might have solved these problems, but our times are different. A few people and corporations have quickly come to own huge portions of American wealth while millions of Americans (and people in other countries, too) plummet from middle class into poverty. In simpler times, regulating (taxing) greed might have solved these problems, but our times are different.
We are evolving in a new way. Relationships and institutions that are built on the perception of power as external have become dysfunctional, and this is impossible to ignore. Competition, discord, hoarding, and exploitation have become counterproductive to our evolution. New relationships and institutions that are built on the perception of power as authentic are emerging. They create harmony, cooperation, sharing, and reverence for Life, which our evolution now requires. In other words, rage and ridicule – at Congress or elsewhere – have become destructive because they are attempts to impose one will upon another, and that now prevents our evolution.
If we have no compassion for those who have no compassion – such as self-serving members of Congress – we become like them. Our self-importance, self-benefit, and self-righteousness fuel theirs. They become our proxies, acting out on national and international stages the same energy that we act out in our own ways. A new requirement for social activism is emerging – the creation of compassion in myself instead of demanding that others become compassionate; developing the ability think, speak, and act without seeing others as villains, because we no longer want to see ourselves as victims.
Developing compassion is the only way to become a spiritual activist. It relieves you of the burden of judgment and frees your creativity to find new, untried, and constructive solutions that are invisible to those who lack compassion.
Our evolution now requires each of us to become a spiritual activist.

NOTE FROM LINDA:
A Woman’s Perspective on Authentic Power
 I took a journey many years ago with a child whom I met for the first time when she was 3 1/2 months. I met her the day she came home from the hospital for the first time. Most people thought that her birth was a tragedy because she didn’t interact like “normal babies,” and she was put into an institution when she was a year old because everyone had given up on her becoming normal.
Her name was Sarah Rose. My experience with Sarah was filled with grace. She couldn't connect with anyone in a five-sensory way. She never moved or reacted to anything anyone said or did. She never smiled or frowned, or made a sound. She seemed to be unaware, unable to hear or see but I was able to connect with her soul-to-soul. Sometimes she came to me in dreams; sometimes I would hear the angels singing when I was with her and I knew they were singing to us because no one else could hear their beautiful music. Sarah Rose taught me that outward appearances are not important. When I forget that, I think of her. She still shows me why creating authentic power is so important, in other words, choosing love even when a part of my personality wants to judge someone for the way she looks or acts.
Sarah Rose also taught me that things we call tragedies are really opportunities to grow spiritually, if we can see them that way. I attended Sarah Rose as a nurse until she was put into the institution, but I and the other nurses who had attended her still came to visit. A couple of days before I was going to visit Sarah Rose – she was 19 months at that time – I awoke with a dream about her again, however in this dream I was looking for a child to make sure she was safe, and when I found her I realized that the child was Sarah Rose. She was smiling at me from her crib, and two parent figures were near to let me know she was well taken care of. I was amazed because this was the first time I had seen Sarah smiling, either while I was awake with her or while I was with her in a dream. When I returned from some errands later in the day, I found a message on my answering machine from Sarah Rose’s mother letting me know that Sarah had passed on early that morning. I knew for certain that Sarah Rose had come in my dream to let me know that she was well and that she had fulfilled her purpose on the Earth.
I invite you to become aware of when you are expecting others to be a certain way or are judging them because they look or act in a way that creates discomfort in you. This could open the door to seeing the soul-to-soul connections you have with everyone.
