Fall Runway Trend Translation Fall Fashion Week is coming to New York this month and the forecasts are telling us what's "in". There are at least three colors in the running for "the new black", animal print is still the hot "new" trend, and velvet is assumed to make a comeback. With the big look of the season being determined by which magazine or blog you read, Ketterman's wanted to translate a few outrageous runway looks into some of the on-trend accessories we have available. 1-Please Elaborate It's all about the details. Laser cuts, beading and embroidery can give an elegant look to your autumn wardrobe. You don't have to go overboard. It doesn't take much for you to be in the style spotlight with a detail oriented necklace, bracelet, or headband.  2-Block Party If you like mixing colors, this fall is your season to play them up. Pair a bright top with contrasting shorts and a blazer or wear a "pre-blocked" pattern. This look is best worn head to toe, so don't be afraid to think outside the box.  3-Cocktail Rock Get out your little black dress and add some leather and studs to achieve this rocker chic look. You can look pretty and tough by adding a rose or bow accent, but stick to the basics - black, silver and white. So, there's no need to spend an arm and a leg to cover yours with latest and greatest off the runway look. Just add one or two accessories to your existing wardrobe to freshen things up for fall, and you'll be set for this season (and -likely- future ones). |
