The Grab Bag Diamond
Pam Pierce-Johnston visited Kettermans in Leesburg recently and conveyed a lovely memory of a Ketterman's Purchase. It seems that when she and her husband Todd became engaged, the original engagement ring was purchased at a store that announced its closing the following week. One of the selling points for the purchase was a program by which a customer could bring in their purchase for check ups from time to time. When realization that this part of the purchase would be lost, Pam and Todd made the decision to return the ring.
At that time, Pam had need for some repairs on her existing Jewelry and reading in the paper of the opening of Kettermans in Sterling, she came in. At the time, Kettermans was running a Grand Opening promotion by which for $1.00 you could do a "grab bag" that would contain some kind of gem. Pam paid her $1.00 and drew her "bag" and when she opened it, she found a ¼ carat diamond! She immediately dug in her purse for a quarter to run down the side walk to use the pay phone (before cell phones) to call Todd and tell him of her good luck. They decided to have the diamond mounted at Kettermans for $99.00 and that beautiful diamond has served as their promise of love for over fifteen years. She lovingly refers to it as her "Grab Bag Diamond."

Remember mom this Mother's Day, thank her for all she's done for you, and tell her how much you love and appreciate her.
