The designs will be on display at Ketterman's through December 23. While they are on display there are two opportunities for our customers to participate in the competition.
1- Customers can enter to win a $500 Ketterman's gift certificate by voting on their favorite design. Votes cost $1, and all of the voting monies will be divided evenly among the four selected charities.
2-Customers can purchase the pieces through a silent auction. The auction ends December 23, and the full auction price will be given to the charity associated with each design.
The jewelers would be honored for you to come by and see their creations, and are excited for your participation.
Blue Ridge Hospice - "Brightening Life's Journey"
My charity of choice is Blue Ridge Hospice. My pendant I designed represents BRH in the following ways. The sun is in reference to BRH motto "Brightening Life's Journey." The bail is a breast cancer awareness ribbon, which BRH is a huge supporter of by hosting an annual fundraising event. The CZ/ diamond is a symbol of a stone that lasts forever, a hope that BRH does too.
I support BRH because they are an advocate to improve the quality of a patient's life by offering comfort, dignity, and choice. They also offer inpatient care, medical and social services, grief and loss support, palliative care, pain and symptom management, spiritual support and music and pet therapies.
Compassion International's - Gifts of Compassion
A farm animal can change the life of a family in poverty. Compassion International's gifts of compassion provide goats, chickens, piglets, sheep, and cows as a source of food and income for families in need.
Compassion International has been very close to my heart for many years; being given the chance to provide children with the opportunity to become healthy, educated and godly men and women is a privilege.
Loudoun Interfaith Relief
A Giving Heart - This heart is inspired by a basket.
For generations baskets have been used to gather and pass along goods to another with heartfelt kindness and compassion.
Locally a continuous bread basket flows to those in need here in Loudoun County through the generous hands of volunteers and givers at Interfaith Relief. For years this organization has provided an avenue making it easy for a community to support each other by collecting and distributing food and basic need products.
Western Loudoun Young Life
After accepting Jesus into my life two Easter's ago and being a Young Life Leader, I wanted to create something that was a part of who I am. So I decided to make a gold cross with the bible verse John 14:6. "Jesus, I am the way, the truth, the life" engraved on it. I wanted my design to have that rustic appeal as if it was something that was found or could have been worn back when Jesus was here on Earth. Going into my second year as a Young Life Leader, I have had the greatest pleasure in watching kids grow stronger in their faith and myself as well. My inspiration comes from my faith in Jesus and being a leader in Young Life which is one of the greatest things, I'm glad to be a part of it.
