True C plus pan

So here's my basic philosophy about almost everything

I do in life:

Keep it simple.    Keep it easy.    Keep it Real!

O.K. O.K. if truth be told, I really want to talk about adopting healthier eating habits.  My point is that changes need to be easy and realistic or they definitely won't be lasting. I can promise you that.

Last month, in class, I shared a multitude of tips and shortcuts ranging from batch cooking techniques to the best kitchen tools to use.  One point I emphasized was the importance of owning the right cooking utensils.

More specifically, it's all about the pan.

Of course, the more classes you attend, the more you'll learn that I always have an ulterior motive in mind.

Firstly, I wanted to stress the fact that one of the Breast Cancer Prevention Protocols is all about safe cooking techniques.  Cooking meat, fish or poultry at high temperatures for extended periods of time is carcinogenic. Therefore, you need to be aware of alternative cooking methods that will still bring you tasty results without using the BBQ grill.   (Read more....)

When it comes to boneless skinless chicken breasts, batch cooking pay$, in more ways than one!

  1. Purchase a large package of boneless skinless chicken breasts and $ave. Check out the Organic variety at COSTCO.
  1. Save lots of valuable time by cooking for several meals, in advance.  SPEND that extra time doing something else for FUN!
  1. If you know you have something already prepped, you are more likely to eat at home. This saves you the extra expense  of eating out as well as the challenge of making healthy choices during the week.  Ironically, you will actually end up having more leisure time if you go home to eat than if you dine out.
  1. Chicken will freeze perfectly if double bagged in freezer bags, dated and frozen while still warm.

A DIVA Asks...

Question: Wendy, what protein powder do you always mention in class?

Answer:  There are 2 that I recommend.

The first is JayRobb.  One reason is because it is readily available at the grocery while still JayRobb
eing a high-quality product.  The protein source is whey, which is the ideal source for you to be using.  It is sweetened with Stevia, the absolute safest, totally natural sweetener option available without the added calories.  The whey powder comes in various flavors.  But I recommend a canister of the plain or vanilla for versatility. For more info visit:  www.jayrobb.com.

The second option is Bluebonnet Whey Protein Isolate. This can be found at health food stores as well as all the Cost Plus Nutrition Stores around town. Whey Protein Isolate Bluebonnetis extremely well digested so it is particularly good for those of you with any GI challenges. In addition, it is not as sweet as the JayRobb product. My personal preference is the Bluebonnet original plain, which has neither a flavor nor a sweetening factor to deal with.  But that is simply a personal preference.  For more info visit:  www.bluebonnetnutrition.com.
