Note from the MGS President

Have you been watching "Who Do You Think You Are?" Friday evenings on NBC?  The program, along with the recent "Faces of America" series on PBS have followed celebrities like Sarah Jessica Parker, Emmit Smith, and Yo-Yo-Ma as they have learned about their family histories.
Pat Evans and Jay Fonkert on KARE 11
If you missed us on TV March 20 chatting about "Who Do You Think You Are?" and strategies for getting started doing your own family history, here's your chance to read about it and see the video on KARE 11's website.

MGS also was recently on the front page of the East Side Review with an article titled "Ask a Genealogist" that promotes our upcoming Family History Fair. Did it appear in your Lillie Suburban Newspaper as well?

We are working hard to get the word out that MGS and its Branches are here to help people with Minnesota connections discover their family history. The mantra at MGS this spring is: "You don't have to be a celebrity to have interesting ancestors."  Join us at our Family History Fair April 17 to learn how to track your immigrant ancestors.

Jay Fonkert, MGS President

And you can get answers to your research questions at a lunch-time "Ask a Genealogist" forum.
