HAZEL MILLER FOUNDATION AWARDS EDMONDS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE $25,000 GRANT

Grant to Support "An Edmonds Kind of 4th"

Edmonds based Hazel Miller Foundation has awarded the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce a $25,000 grant, supporting "An Edmonds Kind of 4th", a non-profit 501(c)(3) event. The grant assures that the community driven celebration will "march" through downtown Edmonds and illuminate the skyline with fireworks on the Fourth of July.

"OUTSTANDING," responded Chamber President Ron Clyborne. "The Chamber is very grateful to be awarded this grant and we applaud the Hazel Miller Foundation's commitment to support the continuance of this special community celebration. A win-win for all!"

With over a 100-year tradition, "An Edmonds Kind of 4th" is a cornerstone of the community, engaging families and businesses and for most residents--kicking off a Northwest summer full of family and community centered activities.

Hazel and her husband Morris were long-time Edmonds residents with a love of Edmonds. The 2011 grant will provide financial support for the day-long Fourth of July celebration. "An Edmonds Kind of 4th" features a 5K Fun Run, Children's Parade, Main Parade and Evening Fireworks that entertains, dazzles and wow's over 35,000 spectators.
