Plan Now for the Edmonds Chamber 4th of July |
As joyful as the smile on a child's face as they walk in the Children's parade; as satisfying as the person who finishes last in the 5k but is so proud to have finished; as patriotic as the American Flag as it passes by the onlookers on Main Street; and as exciting as every face turned up to an amazing fireworks display; the Edmonds 4th of July -- celebrating its 103rd year! Committee chair for this Edmonds Chamber event, Ron Clyborne, gathered his committee back together in March to start work on this year's event. First on the agenda is procuring sponsorship. With our new Edmonds Chamber Foundation it is even easier than ever to position your product or brand with this well attended community celebration, said Clyborne. New this year, we have added naming right opportunities for the various components that added together make for a glorious family-friendly day.

What is a Christian Science Reading Room? |
Christian Science Reading Rooms are bookstores and reading centers for the ex-ploration of spirituality, prayer and healing. They are public resources for anyone on his or her quest for spiritual understanding and are open to people of all faiths, back-grounds, and ways of life.
Every Christian Science Reading Room is unique, and yet you'll find most of the same products and services, as well as an uplifting atmosphere, in all of them. The Edmonds Christian Science Reading Room is staffed by members of the local Church of Christ, Scientist. Reading Rooms and churches are dedicated to helping visitors discover the peace, comfort, and spiritual solutions available to all from God. The first Christian Science Reading Room was established in 1888 to make avail-able Mary Baker Eddy's seminal book on the Bible and Christian healing: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. Today there are more than 1,500 Reading Rooms worldwide---and they continue to serve local communities and make available literature published or sold by The Writings of Mary Baker Eddy and The Christian Science Publishing Society. The Edmonds Reading Room has been in our community since the 1920s. As well as having resources to aid your spiritual study and prayer, the Edmonds Reading Room sponsors a monthly discussion on ways to pray about current concerns of individuals, families, communities and nations. Come join us on the third Tuesday of the month from noon to one o'clock. We're located on 5th Avenue South at 120 C and are open from 10:00 to 4:00 Monday - Friday and from 11:00 to 3:00 on Saturdays. We also stay open until 6:00 on Thursday evenings.
