It's February and many new and exciting things are happening here at the Chamber.

 

On January 5th the 2010 Preferred Business Directory hit the stands. A big THANK YOU to the Journal Media Group for all their hard work. Copies of the directory are available at the Chamber Office or at the Log Cabin Visitor's Center.

 

New this month is the Chamber's Twitter account. For those of you who don't know Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. These tweets are delivered to the author's subscribers who are known as followers. This service will allow the Chamber to reach a larger and broader audience. We are currently working on setting-up some social media training sessions. Watch for more information on this.

 

We have also begun work on our new Chamber website. The website will have a brand new look, new features, better member listings, and more up-to-date information on Chamber events and happenings. We are looking forward to having it up and running by mid March.

 

Two events that you wont want to miss out on this month are: The 2010 Chamber Annual Banquet -- the deadline for reservations is February 12th. Space is limited so make your reservations TODAY. You can find more banquet information in this newsletter. And... the February Chamber Luncheon on the 25th. Guest speaker is Managing Librarian for the Edmonds Library, Lesly Kaplan. Lesly has much to tell us about our local library and the Sno-Isle Library database systems. We hope many of you will join us for these upcoming events.

 

Last but not least, some of you may have noticed our phone system has changed. We are currently installing a new system that will not only save us money but will also allow us to better serve our members. For any of you who have had any difficulties getting through to us during this time of change, we apologize and thank you for your patience as we get this new system in place.
