Election season is in full swing and Your Chamber is here to help promote business issues and business friendly candidates.We have held two heavily attended forums in the past two months that have enabled the business community to ask questions of our current County Commissioners and those running for that office.
Our Candidate Endorsement Committee also met with the candidates and recommended a statement on the County Commissioner candidates was approved by the Board of Directors - click to view the full statement. Your Chamber also scheduled interviews with candidates for several State Representative seats and the Board approved the comments on those races - click to view the full statement.We hope you were able to join us for Eggs & Issues and Business in the County and that you find our official statements on the candidates useful as you make your choices during this important election season.

Chambers co-host networking event
Join us for Business After Hours, a casual networking event, for Clackamas Women's Service, co-hosting with Oregon City Chamber of Commerce. It will be held on Thursday, October 18, from 5:30pm - 7:00pm in the Niemeyer Center Lobby at Clackamas Community College, 19600 Molalla Ave, Oregon City, 97045. CWS is Clackamas County's only shelter for women & children escaping family violence, CWS has safely harbored over 7,000 women & children within the walls of their two shelters. Exceed Enterprises raises $41,000 with Fall Harvest Celebration
Exceed Enterprises held its annual Fall Harvest Celebration at The Aerie at Eagle Landing last Saturday where nearly 200 guests contributed $41,000 to support people with disabilities in our local community. Art Edwards from KGW-TV emceed the evening's program, which included a new video entitled "A Day in the Life" that gave guests insight to one of our program participant's daily routine, and how her life has been changed by being part of the Exceed team.

Public invited to help set priorities for transportation, community and economic development improvements for Clackamas Regional Center
The Clackamas Regional Center Working Group, a committee of community and business representatives established by Clackamas County, is asking for public input on potential improvements for the Clackamas Regional Center area. Your Chamber has been part of this working group but now it is time for the public to express their views either in person at an open house on October 10th or through an online survey that will be open until October 20th.

How can our community serve unmet needs?
What can individuals, service clubs, and churches do to help at-risk families cope with a double-dip recession? Find out more about volunteer opportunities on Tuesday, October 16, at the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 9800 SE 92nd in Happy Valley. TransitTracker for MAX trains disrupted by auto crash
A single-automobile crash at the Rose Quarter Transit Center on Thursday, October 4 destroyed key communication equipment for the MAX system, disrupting TransitTracker. The equipment feeds train tracking information to the TransitTracker system. Since the crash, TransitTracker for MAX trains systemwide can only show scheduled arrival times. The crash itself did not involve TriMet. The fix will likely take 2-3 weeks.
