Clackamas County's Transportation System Plan geographic area work groups begin meeting
Geographic Area Project Groups, subcommittees of the Clackamas County Transportation System Plan (TSP) Public Advisory Committee, will begin meeting the week of June 18 to identify transportation needs and possible solutions in unincorporated Clackamas County. Members of the public are welcome to attend to observe and to speak during the public comment period. People are also encouraged to submit comments in writing on the project website.

Network at multi-chamber event in a community forest
Join members from the Oregon City and West Linn Chambers of Commerce at a Business After Hours on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. Make business connections while you enjoy food, beverages, raffle prizes and fun at the completed Forest Hall at Hopkins Demonstration Forest, 16750 South Brockway Road in Oregon City. Forest tours will be available at 4:00pm as well as an optional bird walk at 7:00pm. While the event is free, RSVPs to 503.632.2150 will be greatly appreciated.

Chamber member recognized by peers
Five year North Clackamas Chamber of Commerce member Shawnda Horn of Double J Construction was recently honored as Oregon Remodelers Association Member of the Year! One of the highest honors in the residential remodeling business is to be recognized by your own peers as being the best of the best. There were dozens of entries and the winner exemplifies the highest-quality workmanship. A panel of five judges from various backgrounds and expertise took many hours to rate and review the criteria. We are proud to have the 2012 ORA Remodeling Achievement Award winner, Shawnda, in our Chamber!

CCC awarded hundreds of degrees in 2011-12
Graduation ceremonies at Clackamas Community College (CCC) honored hundreds of students who earned degrees and certificates, as well as those completing their General Educational Development (GED) and Adult High School Diplomas.

Chamber Member QaulIT Computers is having a fund-raiser for Clackamas Women's Services on Monday, June 25th, from noon to 8:00pm! Join others in the community for this charity BBQ featuring $5 burger dinners, Italian gelato, entertainment, a silent auction and entertainment. Clackamas Women's Services offers women & children more than a safe place to sleep. They provide broken families with long-term emotional and financial support, and transitional housing to ensure their successful journey from crisis to stability. Their mission is to foster self-empowerment of women and children so they can establish lives free of domestic and sexual violence. Their needs are great. Barlow Road closure to begin July 10 for road and bridge repairs
Clackamas County has moved back the closure of Barlow Road at Rock Creek (Long Bridge) from Tuesday, July 10. The road will remain closed through Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 for road and bridge repairs.

Light rail construction continues
Summer construction for the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project in Milwaukie and Oak Grove will continue this summer with construction generally taking place between 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Saturday. Call 503.962.2150 or click for more information and for construction updates.
