Local hospital leader receives award

  

Adventist Health The American Hospital Association (AHA), in partnership with the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems has awarded Tom Russell, President and CEO of Adventist Medical Center the 2012 Grassroots Champion Award.As a 2012 Grassroots Champion, Russell is being recognized for exceptional leadership in generating grassroots and community activity in support of a hospital's mission.

 

Tom Russell Russell is the only health system CEO in Oregon to win the award. The American Hospital Association Grassroots Champion Award was created to recognize those hospital leaders who most effectively educate elected officials on how major issues affect the hospital's vital role in the community, who have done an exemplary job in broadening the base of community support for the hospital and who are tireless advocates for hospitals and their patients.

Wings of Freedom The Wings of Freedom Veterans Coffee Club encourages all service individuals and Veterans to join in for a casual social gathering to enjoy each other's stories, jokes and friendship over a cup of coffee or two. Coffee Club meets the first Friday of the month from 10- noon. There are no membership dues, but donations to continue Coffee Club Costs are encouraged. Click for more information. CCC industry partner Sandvik shares 'The Whole Picture'

  

Clackamas Community College Sandvik, an industry partner providing cutting tools for advanced machine tools at Clackamas Community College (CCC), will host an open house on Wednesday, June 6. Sandvik is hosting its "See the Whole Picture" presentation, part of their "Smart Event" series, which are application workshops presented across the country throughout the year. The open house features demonstrations and information about difficult-to-machine materials, tolerances, surfaces, applications and more.

Clackamas County invites you to celebrate the Trolley Trail June 2

The public is invited to celebrate the completion of the Trolley Trail - a six-mile multi-use trail which follows a historic streetcar line from Milwaukie to Gladstone through the heart of Oak Grove - from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2 at Oak Grove Elementary School, 2150 S.E. Torbank Road, Milwaukie.

New additions for Pickathon 2012

Pickathon 2012 Pickathon is pleased to announce the addition of five new performers to the 2012 lineup: Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars, Bombino, Todd Snider, Casey MacGill, and The Cactus Blossoms. With that, they're sitting at a cool 51 total artists for 2012 Pickathon. That's one big, full weekend - Tickets are now available and won't last long. Regretfully, with the additions, also comes a couple cancellations... C.W. Stoneking and Vieux Farka Touré. They hope they can return in the future. 
CCC offers summer Music Camp for children

Clackamas Community College Children can sing, play and make music during a five-day music camp offered this summer at Clackamas Community College (CCC). The CCC Music Prep Camp is open to students ages 6 through 9. The camp runs June 18 through 22 in the Niemeyer Center at CCC's Oregon City campus. The registration deadline is Friday, June 8.

CCC Graduation ceremonies are June 14 and 15

Clackamas Community College

Hundreds of Clackamas Community College (CCC)students will mark graduation in two ceremonies in June. Students earning their General Educational Development (GED) and Adult High School Diploma will take part in the Thursday, June 14, graduation. Those completing degrees and certificates will be recognized in the Friday, June 15, ceremony. For more information about graduation, please visit the CCC graduation website.
