CEO makes announcement
 After much consideration I have made the difficult decision that I will not be renewing my contract with the Chamber at the end of our fiscal year, June 30, 2012. As leaders yourselves, you understand the importance of evaluating the operations of an organization to identify what is important to move the goals and vision of an organization forward. That has been a major focus of my time this year. With the help of the Board and our volunteer teams we have worked to continually improve the services and opportunities for our members. Full article

Networking: Are we taking the right approach?
On April 12, Rob Campbell, an instructor and business coach with the Small Business Development Center will provide a relevant and practical approach to effective networking that can help turn contacts into clients. Discussion will include the "Networking Ladder", networking etiquette, essential networking questions, following up with contacts and much more. Sponsored by Marylhurst University, this Women In Networking Session will be held from 11:15-1:00pm at Oregonian's Credit Union located at 6915 SE Lake Rd, Milwaukie OR 97267. Registration required.

Peak Oil, Burgerville Business Model, on 2012 CCC Sustainability Series
The Sustainability Series at Clackamas Community College (CCC) returns for a seventh year with a line up of speakers and activities. Events run from April 6 through June 9 and are open to the public. All events are free except for the Mask Making workshop on April 6 and Barbara Ford's "Active Hope" seminar on June 9.

First Fridays set to resume in May
First Fridays in Milwaukie are set to start again and run May through October. A shiny new logo and website have spurred excitement as well as some additions to the same much loved format. A walking map is being created with 3 vendor pods spread throughout the downtown area to facilitate a more walking friendly atmosphere. Local businesses plan to stay open late and participate by either hanging art, having music, or offering a special First Friday Happy Hour.

The overwhelming majority of Oregon tax preparers provide honest and valuable services to their clients.
