Still time to support foundation fundraiser Flyer required for Foundation to benefit
A $1000 scholarship could make the difference whether a high school senior attends college. The Chamber's separate 501(c)(3) non-profit, the North Clackamas County Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation aims to develop our future leaders by hosting a fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen on February 29 from Noon - 9 PM. All dine-in and carry out food or beverages will earn the Foundation 20% of proceeds that will fund a scholarship. One senior who has graduated from the Clackamas County Young Leader's Project will be eligible to apply for the scholarship this spring. Dr. Hacmac to boost CPK donations and save you money!
Dr. Ed Hacmac, with Hands on Chiropractic and Massage, is generously boosting North Clackamas County Chamber Community Foundation's benefit from California Pizza Kitchen's donations on February 28 and 29. Simply present your meal receipt from CPK to Dr. Hacmac. He will then give you 20% of your CPK bill as a discount on your services AND will donate an equal amount to the Community Foundation to fund a YLP graduate college scholarship.

Business Continuity Planning - Are you prepared? 
March 6, Marilyn Nikolas from Business Continuity Planners Association and Jay Wilson, Clackamas County Emergency Management will describe steps you can take to ensure your business can survive a disaster. The workshop will cover data ba ckup and recovery, how to reestablish productivity, and the importance of having a continuity plan. Participants will receive a take home toolkit to begin a continuity plan. Sponsored by the Clackamas Community College, Customized Training & Development Center and Baker Insurance Agency. 11:30-1:00pm brown bag session, free for North Clackamas County Chamber of Commerce Members and $30.00 for all others. Members unite to make a difference
Clackama s Fire District #1 is partnering with the Ram Restaurant & Brewery to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Bring your family and friends to the Ram on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 5:00pm - 9:00pm and on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from noon - 9:00pm when firefighters will be helping serve! Then support them in the Fourth Annual Firefighter Stairclimb Fundraiser to be held in Seattle on March11, 2012.

Clackamas Repertory Theatre returns for its eighth season, featuring two classics and a brand new comedy. The new season was announced during the theater company's fundraiser in early February.

North Clackamas Education Foundation Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament
North Clackamas Education Foundation (NCEF) is hosting a charity poker tournament to benefit North Clackamas School District's Outdoor School Program on Friday, March 16, at 7pm. Only a $30 buy in with a $300 Visa Card top prize. The tournament will take place at High Rocks Restaurant and Lounge 915 E. Arlington Street, Gladstone, OR 97027. Member's passion leads to non-profit's opportunity
Joseph Kaufmann, a business attorney in Gladstone, has a special affinity for a particular non-profit in our community: the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Clackamas County. Having had personal experience though a family member, Joe knows how important this organization is for helping individuals and families who often have difficulty negotiating through the "traditional" system for services and support. NAMI's mission is to improve the quality of life of individuals with mental health disorders and their loved ones through education, support, and advocacy.

Credit union returns to its roots in West Linn
Clackamas Federal Credit Union (CFCU) grand opening slated for spring 2012
CFCU will open its seventh branch in West Linn on April 6, 2012. The future branch will be located inside Safeway at 22000 Salamo Road, and will be their only credit union with a physical presence in West Linn.

CRT play reading series Begins March 18
The Clackamas Repertory Theatre begins its third play-reading series, Sundays at Three, on March 18 with "The Golden State," a 21st century reinvention of Moliere's classic comedy "The Miser." Three play readings are scheduled for the Sundays at Three series that continues through June 3.

Community panel members sought
New Urban High School is seeking a few good people with an interest in and/or knowledge of biodiesel to assist with a school project. The school's junior cohort has been working on a project about biodiesel. On Monday, March 12th, and Tuesday, March 13th, from 9-11, the students will be presenting this project to a panel of community members. The school is seeking people to sit on that panel for one or both days. If you, or anyone from your business, would be interested in assisting this local high school by sitting on the panel, please email Daniale Lynch at New Urban High School with the day you are available.

Four-Day (104-hour) closure of Highway 213 near I-205
8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22 until 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27
8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22 until 4:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27
A portion of Highway 213 south of the I-205 interchange (Exit 10) will be closed to all traffic beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 22nd. The highway will reopen to traffic no later than 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27th. During the 4-day/5-night closure, a City of Oregon City contractor will work around the clock to install a new bridge on Highway 213 using an innovative rapid bridge construction process. The new bridge is a key part of a City of Oregon City and ODOT project that is designed to improve safety and the flow of traffic on the congested stretch of highway near the I-205 interchange.
