Sweet Heart of a deal
Your Chamber has kicked off its Sweet Heart Package Travelling Raffle. This year's package, valued at more than $1200, includes a fabulous amethyst ring from LaRog Brothers, one night in a Jacuzzi suite at Oxford Suites, a three month Executive Family Membership at East Side Athletic Club, a large floral arrangement from Stargazer Baskets and Blooms, a chocolate martini gift basket from Dove Chocolatiers (including four martini glasses) and a gift card to McGrath's Fish House. Going bear hunting at Hopkins Demonstration Forest
They've got a bear! And they want to learn more about its habits, pattern of use, and how it fits into the landscape and resources at Hopkins Demonstration Forest. Gather at 8:30am, into the woods by 9:00am, enjoy community lunch at noon with bear talk until 1:00pm. Call 503.632.2150 before January 12 to reserve your place (limited to 15). Tony Deis, Founder of Trackers Earth, along with master tracker David Jacobson, will lead the field discovery experience so we can learn more about "our bear". Participants will learn some basic tracking skills, and how to interpret tracks and other signs of this particular bear's activities in the forest. Bring your best observation skills and dress for the weather (do not go bare). Donations are greatly appreciated ($25). This workshop initiates a wildlife monitoring program for Hopkins that we will need volunteers for in coming months - consider joining the Hopkins Wildlife Team.

COME n' SEE the POSSIBILITIES! ~ A TEEN Parent Organized Event will be held on Friday, March 16th from 1:00 - 3:00pm at Clackamas Banquet & Catering Center. With support from Madonna's Center and a CCHD grant, seven magnificent teen parent leaders are organizing the first-ever teen parent resource fair in Clackamas County. They are planning for 25 exhibitors and over 100 teen parent to attend, plus 50 other community members. Winged-creatures habitat box construction and placement
Gather at Hopkins Demonstration Forest on January 14 from 12:30 - 4:00pm to construct several habitat boxes and install them in the forest as part of the 2:00pm tour that will focus on wildlife habitat and use of Hopkins property. This volunteer opportunity supports a local Boy Scout who is earning his Eagle rank. Call 503.632.2150 before January 12 to reserve your place (limited to 15).
