Feedback needed on budget cut issues

TriMet TriMet has tough budget choices ahead, and they want to know what's most important to you when it comes to service on the street and the price you pay to ride. TriMet is facing a $12-17 million shortfall in the next budget year - the result of three things: lower-than-expected revenue from payroll taxes, anticipated cuts in federal funding, and unsustainable health care costs for union employees. They have launched an interactive website where riders and the community can learn about the budget challenges they're facing and the impacts their decisions will have. It spells out options for raising revenue and cutting costs in three areas: fares, service, and internal efficiencies. They invite you to visit the site, learn more about the issues, then weigh in by submitting your feedback.
