Milwaukie baseball public meetings to be held
The Milwaukie City Council is holding three listening posts to give business members and residents several opportunities to speak directly with the Council about its goal of bringing professional baseball to Milwaukie and back to the Portland-metro region. This is your opportunity to be informed and to communicate your concerns and ideas. The meetings will be held at various locations on October 27th, November 9th and 17th. Click for more information.

Chamber member becomes champion
Congratulations to Anne-Louise Sterry of Toastmasters for Speaking Professionals! Friday night Anne-Louise competed on behalf of her club as Area 63 champion, beating the winners from 4 other areas in BOTH the "Humorous Speech" AND the "Table Topics" contests, becoming the 2011 Willamette Division champion in both categories!
This means Anne-Louise will now represent her club and the Willamette Division at the state-wide (District 7) competition to WIN the whole District championship! This final, championship competition is held at the Toastmasters Leadership Conference on Saturday November 5, Oregon Convention Center. You can come and cheer her on at this event thereby demonstrating what a fabulous supportive chamber we have.

Soirée and raffle raise funds
The McLoughlin Memorial Association is hosting two fundraising events - "Dr. John McLoughlin's Soirée" and a raffle for a 2011 Oregon City Woolen Mills Tribute Blanket made by Pendleton Woolen Mills. The "Dr. John McLoughlin's Soirée" will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011, at 7:30 p.m., at the historic Ainsworth House, 19130 Lot Whitcomb Drive, Oregon City. The event will feature wine tasting, a silent auction, live music, light refreshments, and an opportunity to meet "Dr. McLoughlin" himself! Tickets for "Dr. John McLoughlin's Soirée" and the raffle are available by calling Tracy Hill at 503.656.5146, or Rolla Harding at 503.655.0385, or by visiting the Barclay House, 719 Center Street, Oregon City, Wednesday - Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm.
