Women In NetworkingMarylhurst University Speaker, Anne-Louise Sterry be will sharing the power of audacious joy!  Learn how to communicate more effectively, promote team work and how to create new opportunities are just a few topics she will discuss. Her presentation teaches us techniques backed by current brain research. The luncheon will be held at Clackamas Catering & Banquet Center. Non-members welcome! The event is sponsored by Marylhurst University.
Local economy to be boosted by geocache challenge that launches July 18 

 

Geocaching Coin

Geocaching is a high-tech, family oriented, treasure hunting game. GPS devices are used to locate hidden containers, called geocaches. Adventure seekers of all ages search for geocaches throughout the world and then they share experiences online. July 18th Your Chamber partnering with Clackamas County Tourism & Cultural Affairs, will launch our 2011 Geocache Challenge. Promoting the Community


Open House on projects for regional transportation funding set for July 21
 

Clackamas County and the cities of Happy Valley, Milwaukie, West Linn and Lake Oswego are proposing six potential transportation improvement projects to be considered for funding with flexible federal funds administered by Metro. Proposed projects for Clackamas County and its urban cities will be available for review and comment at a public open house set for 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, July 21st. 
Community festival focuses on family fun

Day in the ParkDay in Damascus is a long-standing, community celebration, focusing on family fun, great entertainment and great food all to support the Damascus Centennial Park and other community service activities of KIWANIS! The event will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 2011 from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The day begins with a pancake breakfast from 8:30am to 10:30am and ends with a after the event BBQ.

Memorial golf tournament honors past board member

Mark ChambersOn Saturday, July 30, 2011, the Mark Chambers Memorial Golf Tournament will be held at Stone Creek Golf Club to honor Mark Chambers and his favorite pastime. Chambers was a long term Chamber member and past board member. The event will include 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, dinner, great prizes and a nice donation to Get Your Rear in Gear on Mark's behalf! Movies in the Parks

Sponsored by North Clackamas Parks & Recreation District, FREE movies will be held throughout the area on Friday evenings beginning at dusk, usually about 9:00pm. So bring a picnic and a blanket and enjoy family movies under the stars. Friday, July 15th the movie, "Despicable Me" will be showing at Ashley Meadows Park, 5410 SE Oregon Trail in Happy Valley. 
Blaze a trail to Treasures & Tales
 

Treasures & Tales, Clackamas County Historical Society's FREE interactive summer history programs for children and adults, are designed to stimulate the intellect as well as the senses. Presentations are at the Museum of the Oregon Territory on all Wednesdays and first and third Saturdays through Aug. 31. Next up: Wednesday, July 13 Missionaries were some of the earliest Oregon Territory settlers. Learn how they shaped the fledgling state by urging others to come West, too! And on Saturday, July 16 Oregon or Bust! They will ponder the journey from the Midwest by wagon train to Oregon City's Abernethy Green.

Clackamas Repertory Theatre and the museums of Oregon City invite you to join them on August 10 for a reception and benefit production of Oklahoma!  The Rose Farm has been chosen to be the beneficiary of the funds raised through the ticket sales! This production will be held at the Clackamas Repertory Theatre in the Osterman Theatre/Niemeyer Center on the campus of Clackamas Community College.
