A final goodbye from 2010-2011 Leadership Clackamas County (LCC)  

 

LeadershipThe May 25th leadership classes said its final goodbyes while hearing from several leaders from the community about how to utilize the skills learned throughout the class. Members had the chance to hear from the Young Leaders about the internship experiences they had and how they are going to apply what they learned to their education and future. All in all it was a tremendous finish to an insightful, educational, and impacting year-long class experience.

A free symposium for small business will provide you with a great opportunity to meet and listen to a variety of lenders to find out if you are bankable, and if not, steps you can take to improve your chances of getting funded. It will be held on Wednesday, June 8th, at 7:30am at Clackamas Community College - Niemeyer Center. All chambers of commerce in Clackamas County are invited to attend.

Welcome BagHere's another great opportunity to market your business while you promote our community! We have a request from the American Legion Auxiliary for 50 Welcome Bags for their upcoming fundraiser for children with respiratory problems. We need 50 of your pens, mugs, refrigerator magnets, coupons, or any creative items that will intrigue folks to visit your business while they are in the North Clackamas area. Gladstone Summer Farmers Market is open on Saturdays 9am-2pm at 580 Portland Ave, across from Gladstone Fire Dept. at Watts Heating and Cooling. It features local produce, flowers, plants, food, arts & crafts, and more. Support the Gladstone's Backpack Buddy program, bring your non-perishable foods to farmers market. The market will be open through September 24th.

"Exploring Treasures and Tales" free summer program starts on Wednesday, June 15, at the Clackamas County Historical Society (CCHS). Join them at CCHS for a free summer program when the Museum of the Oregon Territory opens every Wednesday and the first and third Saturday June 15 to Aug. 31 for presentations and hands-on activities three times a day.

Grant received to continue workforce investment programs for veterans

Community Solutions for Clackamas CountyThe U.S. Department of Labor announced that Community Solutions for Clackamas County (CSCC) will receive a grant for $500,000 to continue its successful workforce investment program for veterans.  The grant is part of a national workforce program designed to support and continue successful job training and placement efforts that focus on getting veterans to work. For more information contact Maureen Thompson, Director, at 503.655.8842 or by email.

Summer classes start

ISA Training FacilityISA Training Facility is starting an SAQ class for young warriors ages 7-9. This is a beginner's class that will introduce speed, agility, quickness drills & movement to budding athletes in a non-competitive environment.
