THIS NOTE APPLIES TO
GRADE 15 & 16 EMERITUS REFEREES ONLY
Many of you Emeritus referees have been asking the question..."What do we need to do for our recertification?" Well, we now have an answer for you.
CalSouth has updated the 2011 Maintenance-Renewal Requirements which now includes Grade 15 and Grade 16 requirements. These have been published to the CalSouth website.

Re: Maintenance and recertification of referees. Modification of Emeritus referee requirements for recertification.
Due to the respect and acknowledgment of the time, effort and dedication that Emeritus referees have shown to the game, it has been decided that they need only take the written exam and in-service that is required of all referees who recertify in 2011. We all must keep up with the laws and the handling of the matches.
The following revised page has been placed on the CalSouth.com website. Note that the only change in actual requirements is for the Emeritus 15-16 grades.

The Grade 15 & 16 Emeritus requirements are:
1) five hours of continuing education
2) Take and pass the written refresher exam (State level)
The refresher exam will be given at a State recertification clinic. The Grade 8 recert clinics are NOT applicable.

YOU MUST PREREGISTER ON THE CALSOUTH WEBSITE
FOR THESE WRITTEN TEST SESSIONS (See below)
The fee, when you register for the written test session, is $80. This is your Registration payment for 2011. You will not need to pay again when you actually submit your paperwork; Danielle at CalSouth matches your registration paperwork to your on-line payment.
I checked with Danielle at the CalSouth office and she asked that when you register, for whichever clinic you choose, that you select the option: Re-cert Grade 6 & 5
You will not find an option for Grade 16 & 15.
Here's how to see all the clinics that are available and how to register for a specific clinic:
1) Go to the CalSouth Clinic Schedule
2) In the Event Type menu, select Referee Clinic
3) Click on the Search button
4) Scroll down through the list, find the clinic you are
interested in attending, click on it, and away you go.
5) To register for a clinic, once you've clicked on it, you'll
find the Register button in the upper right hand corner.
