Hi ,
Here are some updates to the clinics that are scheduled for San Diego. The email we sent out on 09/27 has been updated, it is still important and that information is shown below in case you missed it.
There are now THREE opportunities for the Grade 8 referee to get your requirements fulfilled for registering for 2011.
Remember - there are TWO components for the Grade 8 referee for recertification and registering for 2011:
1. Complete and pass the written recertification exam 2. Have at least five accumulated educational hours

*******BELOW SENT ON 09/27*************
Welcome to the first in the series of emails you'll see regarding registration for 2011. It always takes more than one.
This email deals with the current Grade 8 Referee and what they need to do to get registered for 2011.
CalSouth is enforcing both the continuing education requirements as well as the written test requirements. Over the last two years we have been promising you this day was coming.
Grade 8 referees do not need to take the physical or obtain a field assessment.
Here are some handy links for you to use: CalSouth Registration Page (these are the instructions) USSF Referee Registration Form CalSouth 2011 Maintenance-Renewal Requirements CalSouth 2011 Referee Renewal Fees
Here's the short version...If you are a Grade 8 Referee and are registering for 2011 you MUST:
1) Have five (5) cumulative education hours for 2010
2) Must have taken, and passed the Grade 8 Written Recert test, a passing grade is 75% and greater.
You may obtain your education hours by:
* Attending any recognized referee association meeting, it does not have to be your home association, 1 hour credit.
* Attending and participating in the RefereeInstructionOnLine webinars, 1 hour credit.
* Attending the Written Recertification test session, generally these session take about 2-3 hours, 1 hour credit.
* Attending a five hour continuing education and Written Recertification test session, 5 hours credit.
YOU MUST PREREGISTER ON THE CALSOUTH WEBSITE FOR THESE WRITTEN TEST SESSIONS (See below)
The fee, when you register for the written test session, is $45. This is your Registration payment for 2011. You will not need to pay again when you actually submit your paperwork; Danielle at CalSouth matches your registration paperwork to your on-line payment.
Here's how to see all the clinics that are available and how to register for a specific clinic:
1) Go to the CalSouth Clinic Schedule
2) In the Event Type menu, select Referee Clinic
3) Click on the Search button
4) Scroll down through the list, find the clinic you are interested in attending, click on it, and away you go.
5) To register for a clinic, once you've clicked on it, you'll find the Register button in the upper right hand corner.
As always we are here to help you. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to drop a note.
Please pass this note on to your fellow referees and league administrators. We recognize there are hundreds of referees who may work in-house assignments for some leagues and are likely not in anyone's communication stream.
We need to get this information out to them as well so they don't run in to problems come registration time!
