If you are considering not registering because you don't think you can meet the continuing annual educational requirements, please let us help you maintain your active referee certification.

In the last few weeks Leanne and I have had conversations and email exchanges with numerous referees, especially youth referees, who were not going to re-register this year solely because they were convinced they could not meet the education requirements.
Just yesterday I was speaking with an adult referee. I asked him if he had registered and his answer was no, as he believed he could not make the education requirements because of work and night school. He has been refereeing for well over a decade. As simple as that he thought his referee career was done. This is a GREAT concern for us.
If we assume the ones we have heard from are just the tip of the iceberg then we have to assume many referees just plan on fading away. Don't be one of them.
Many of our referees work nights, have school commitments, play after school sports, have homework, don't have transportation or many other reasons for not being able to make regular meetings.
DON'T let that stop you from re-registering! We will help you find a solution that works for you AND meets the State's requirements.
In doing a quick review of the current Registered Referee List we are very concerned about the number of youth referee names that are not listed. We need you on our fields, we need you to grow in the game, you are the future, we will solve this dilemma with you. Get registered. Time is running out.
If you are one of the referees who thought. "Well, since I can't make the education requirements then I won't register" Leanne and I want to hear from you right away. We will solve the problem with you.

We still want to encourage you to attend association meetings whenever possible. The State's ongoing educational program
is really excellent and those referees that are getting to meetings are
benefiting greatly. We have never had such great attendance. And the instructors have been excellent.
