Below, courtesy of Jim Zerkle, you will find an excellent summary of the Cal South Recertification and Upgrade Clinic that will be held this coming weekend 11/07 and 11/08.
Grade 8 Referees - while attendance at such clinics is certainly encouraged it is not mandatory. We'd really like to see you at ALL the monthly association meetings to stay up on the Laws of the Game!
And, oh, by the way, starting in 2010 attendance at 10 monthly association meetings will be mandatory for 2011 badge year. More on this later.

Here is information on upcoming recertification and upgrade clinics.
DATES and PLACE -
The next, and possibly last-for-this-year, recertification and upgrade referee
clinics will be held at Citrus College in Glendora on November 7 and 8.
Referees upgrading from Referee Grade 7 to State Referee 6 must attend
both Saturday and Sunday.
All others will attend only on Saturday
the 7th.

FEES -
CalSouth is charging a fee for these clinics. The fee amount corresponds
to your annual USSF registration fee and will be applied to your USSF
registration. The amounts posted on the CalSouth web site as of
10/24/2009 are:
Referee 8 - $45
Referee 7 - $50
State Referee 6 and 5 - $80
SCHEDULE -
Saturday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Check in between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m.
Morning - WRITTEN test, instruction
Afternoon - Instruction, and PHYSICAL TEST AT 3:00
P.M. !!!
Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
For 7 to 6 upgrades only.
State Referee training program.
LOCATION -
1000 W. Foothill Blvd, Glendora, CA 91741
Citrus College in in Glendora, bounded on the north by Foothill Blvd, on the
east by Barranca Ave, on the south by Alosta Ave and on the west by Citrus Ave.
It is 100 miles from San Diego (Carmel Valley).
Class will meet in lecture hall LH1 and LH2, near the north-east part of
campus. Park in lot E6 (East Library Lot) off of Foothill Blvd.
(this is the room where classes have been in the past ... waiting for
confirmation for this clinic ... stay nimble).
PRE-REGISTRATION -
You can pre-register for the clinics on the CalSouth web site. Please do
so. You can pay the clinic fee via credit card on the site. I have
attached some screen-shots of the web site to assist you.
Go to www.calsouth.com
Pull down the 'REFEREES' menu near the top, and click on 'Clinic Schedule'.
On the 'Calendar-Events' page, UNCHECK the 'Association' box and CHECK the
'League' box, then click 'Search'.
Select the clinic you want and click on its name. A page will open for
that clinic.
Click on 'Register'
for this clinic. Now you are on your own!
CLINIC SELECTION -
Be sure to select the clinic you want. There are three choices on the
site, as follows:
Upgrade
and Re-cert 8-7. This is for 8's and 7's staying at grade and for
8's upgrading to 7.
This is Saturday only.
Upgrade
and Re-cert 7-6. Name is misleading. This is for only grade
7's upgrading to grade 6.
This is the only two-day clinic,
Saturday
and Sunday.
Upgrade
and Re-cert 6-5. This is for 6's and 5's staying in grade and for
6's upgrading to 5.
This is Saturday only.
WAIVER for physical -
You will complete a waiver to participate in the physical at the clinic on
Saturday.
