WE ARE THE 'BEST': Duncanville Enters 'Most Patriotic" City Contest

VOTE for Duncanville as the Best of the RoadŽ Most Patriotic Small Town!

USA Today and Rand McNally have partnered to host the Best of theJuly Fourth RoadŽ contest for America's small towns. As part of the contest, cities are able to enter categories such as Most Beautiful, Most Patriotic, Friendliest, Most Fun, and Best Food. The top 20 cities will be featured in the 2013 Rand McNally Atlas and the Best of the RoadŽ cross-country rally (a team of travelers that help find America's best small towns).

The City of Duncanville has entered the Most Patriotic category, and we need YOU, your neighbors, family, and friends to vote for Duncanville and help put us on the map (literally)!

Duncanville is most deserving of this recognition based on the many patriotic events hosted in the City. For example, Duncanville hosts one of the largest July Fourth festivities and firework shows in the Best Southwest region. Additionally, the City helped coordinate the American Veterans Traveling Tribute that featured a replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall. Parade

The annual Memorial Day tribute to veterans and soldiers and the Rotary Club's flag displays are also great examples of our citizens' love for our country. Last but not least, one of the most important symbols of our City's patriotism is the War Memorial and Eternal Flame at the heart of the City that pays homage to the fallen.

In order to vote, simply visit the Best of the RoadŽ  website, www.bestoftheroad.com, and complete the quick registration, and vote for Duncanville! The contest ends May 23, 2011.

Let's show America why we are the City of Champions!
