Cancellations/ClosuresDue to the inclement weather, the Duncanville Library will close at 5:00 p.m. today, February 1. The Recreation Center and D.L. Hopkins Senior Center is currently closed. The Duncanville City Council meeting scheduled for tonight has been canceled.
Municipal Court will be closed tomorrow, February 2. If you were scheduled for court, please contact the Municipal Court at (972) 780-5055 to reschedule. Road Conditions
To address the icy conditions on the road, the City has three trucks and 13 street department personnel available for sanding operations and will sand as needed. To view the "City of Duncanville Ice Control Policy and Procedures," click here. Garbage Collection
There will no garbage collection today, February 1. Service will be provided on your next regular collection day.

| Oncor Provides Winter Weather Information | |
 As winter weather continues to make its way across Texas, Oncor encourages customers to join its crews by making safety a priority this week. In any outage situation, Oncor's top priority is to restore power as quickly and as safely as possible and advises customers of simple ways they can assist in the process.
· First, customers who experience a loss of power should report an outage by calling 888.313.4747.
· Secondly, storms and high winds can cause damage to power lines, causing them to fall from poles and reach the ground. If an individual sees a downed power line, they should immediately call 911 and keep others away from the downed lines as well.
· Additionally, during cold snaps, customers often turn to inefficient forms of heating, such as space heaters, to warm their homes which can lead to higher bills. Space heaters also pose significant fire hazards and were responsible for one in three home heating fires between 2004 and 2008, according to the National Fire Protection Association. If a space heater is necessary, Oncor reminds customers to maintain at least three feet of space between the heater and material that may burn and to turn off heaters when leaving the room.
· Lastly, Oncor encourages our customers to be good neighbors. Check in on elderly or ailing neighbors to ensure their safety or to assist in making alternate housing plans, if necessary.
