Traffic Alert: US Hwy. 67/Wheatland Road Ramp Closure

Road Closed orangeThe Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) recently announced that they will be permanently closing the Wheatland Road southbound entrance ramp onto US Hwy. 67 on Wednesday, November 24, 2010.

 

The ramp closure is due to construction of auxiliary lanes on US Hwy. 67. Motorists wanting to enter US Hwy. 67 to go southbound will have to proceed through Cockrell Hill Road intersection before entering the highway.

Duncanville Gears up for a 'Grinchmas' Christmas!
GrinchmasThe Duncanville Parks and Recreation Department is preparing for its annual Parade and Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 3 starting at 7:00 p.m.

 

This year's theme is "Merry Grinchmas." The parade will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. The parade route begins on Freeman Street near Reed Middle School preceding west on Wheatland Road and then north on Main Street. Awards will be given for "Best Use of Lights," "Santa's Choice," "Best Representation of Parade Theme," "Grand Marshall's Choice," and "Best Overall."

 

The Tree Lighting and Pictures with Santa will begin at 7:40 p.m. at City Hall. As part of the Christmas in Duncanville festivities, children can drop off their Letters to Santa from November 29 through December 15 at City Hall, located at 203 E. Wheatland Rd.

Holiday Closure Information: City Offices, Duncanville Library and Recreation Center

Community Center
City of Duncanville offices and buildings including City Hall, Duncanville Municipal Service Center, Duncanville Public Library and the Duncanville Recreation Center will be closed Thursday, November 25 through Sunday, November 28. The City will resume regular business hours on Monday, November 29. Hours of operation for the Christmas and New Year holidays will be posted at www.duncanville.com.
Holiday Garbage Collection Schedule

 

garbage canThere will be no garbage or recycling collection on Thursday, November 25. Service will be provided on your next regular collection day.

Please note that there will be regular trash collection on Friday, December 24 and Friday, December 31.
