DIRECTOR'S VIEW

We've always said that books are good for you, and more studies are coming out that show just how good. According to a recent study in The Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, people who frequently read for pleasure are fifty-two percent less likely than reluctant readers to develop mild cognitive impairment as they age.  Fifty-two percent! What a simple and enjoyable thing to do for yourself - and if you use your library for your reading material, it

is cost effective and there is an unlimited selection of offerings. Combine that with our website

www.saginawlibrary.org that offers booklists and

databases of book reviews, and you have a convenient

prescription for a brain booster.
