DIRECTOR'S VIEW

Public libraries help people acquire the skills to become lifelong learners, compete in the global economy, and provide the knowledge to participate in civic life - this is nothing new. But how we do it continues to change. In April, as part of our new strategic work plan process, we spent some quality time with community leaders from across a wide spectrum of agencies and businesses. We discussed strengths of our community, common concerns that we had as a community, and how the library might be able to better align services to reflect the community needs with shrinking resources. We'll continue to do work on the plan and the process in May and June and come up with a solid path for the next few years that is relevant for our customers and provides quality services and programs. Stay tuned -
