| DIRECTOR'S REPORT | | At a recent meeting, a participant asked me about our Summer Reading Program, so I gave her the highlights. Then she asked if I had heard anything about Jazz on Jefferson, so I shared with her how the library was involved in that great community collaboration. Then she said she had heard about the D.E.A.R. event at the zoo and I was able to share with her that the library works closely with the organizers and that we participate in that event, as well. It became almost a game - she would mention a community event that was happening over the summer and I would tell her how the library was involved. It was a proud conversation to be able to share with her what a great community partner the library is and how we have so many other strong organizations in the area that we can work together with for the good of our patrons.

Summer Breeze, Summer Fun! |
"Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind."
This time of year brings back many memories of listening to the Isley Brothers' version of this song which was originally performed by Seals and Crofts. Whether at a family reunion, a trip up north, down the I-75 corridor or just kicking it, the summer is an excellent time to experience the sights and sounds of MICHIGAN.
The National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, Saugatuck Dune Rides an Adventure in Western Michigan or Wild Summer Nights Concert Series at the Detroit Zoo, there's a variety of festivals, museums, and activities for everyone.
