Greetings!
The entire team at A.D. Davis Construction Corp. extends healthy and happy holiday wishes to you and your family. Our company has been blessed to be a part of this community for more than three generations. We are privileged to work with so many hard-working vendors and subcontractors, talented architects, designers and engineers; but most of all, we are fortunate to build long-lasting relationships with our customers even as we build their homes and businesses.
We are proud to be a part of so many wonderful activities and programs here in our hometown. I encourage you to take part in Winter Wonderland, now through Jan. 3 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. Our friends at the Limelight Theater will help you find the perfect gift of entertainment for all the people on your holiday list. If you're looking for a gift that will last a lifetime, there are many worthwhile non-profit organizations here in our community that could help you turn a gift into a legacy, like our friends at the ARC of the St. Johns. Keep them in mind as the year comes to a close.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Sliding Into a Winter Wonderland
|
A.D. Davis is helping to make St. Augustine's holidays jolly with the new and improved Ice Slide at the free-admission Winter Wonderland. The slide is open for the duration of Winter Wonderland, noon to 10 p.m. daily through Jan. 3 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, except for about 30 to 45 minutes each afternoon when the ice is resurfaced. If you're at least 42 inches tall, you can race down this slide covered in ice or challenge your friends to see who is the fastest. The cost is $3 for one slide or $10 for four slides, and all participants younger than 18 must have a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. In addition to the Ice Slide, Winter Wonderland, 1340C A1A South, also features ice skating, the Elf Express Train and Elf Village, Blizzard Bounce, visits from Santa through Christmas Eve, presentation of a musical ("A Time for Everything") Friday and Saturday nights, sleigh rides, Reindeer Games and SNOW twice nightly. For details, visit the Web site or call (904) 209-0367. A.D. Davis is proud to sponsor the Ice Slide for this year's Winter Wonderland.

Indeed, It's a Wonderful Life
|
We encourage all of our friends and neighbors to check out "It's a Wonderful Life" this holiday season at the Limelight Theatre of St. Augustine.
Sure, we've all seen the movie, but most of us have never seen or heard anything like A Classic Theatre's family-friendly production, taking place onstage as a live radio play. And there are only three more performances. Written by Joe Landry,
this heartwarming tale of George Bailey's discovering the truth of his
impact on the lives of his family, friends and community has an
important message for each of us: We matter!
The production opened on Dec. 1
in the Limelight Theatre Studio Theatre at 11 Old Mission Avenue,
uptown St. Augustine. Remaining performances are at 7:30 p.m.on
Tuesdays: Dec. 8, 22 and 29. Tickets to this show, or any at the Limelight Theatre, will make terrific stocking stuffers. These are $20 each with
discounts available for seniors and students. Call
904-829-5807 or email jtrahner@gmail.com for reservations and information.

Give a Gift of Care: Support ARC Learning Center
|
A.D. Davis supports the ARC of the St. Johns Therapeutic Learning Center.
After 20 years of successfully serving its community, the Therapeutic Learning Center, or TLC, finally has broken ground on its new home. Our children with special needs will soon have a fun and exciting environment enriched with stimulating
activities, delivered by skilled professionals, giving each of them a
better opportunity to develop skills that can lead to a less dependent
life.
Through a
Charter School program, TLC serves newborns to 5-year-olds. Twelve children are enrolled in the Charter School,
and one is enrolled in the at-home, early-intervention sessions TLC offers for children younger than 4. The new facility, expected to open in 2010, will make it possible to serve many more.
TLC
was started by a small group of parents of children with special
needs because there were no preschool services offered
within the St. Johns County School District in the early 1980s. Back then, before scientific
studies substantiated the importance of early intervention, parents
knew their children were missing prime learning
opportunities. This group approached the ARC to see what
could be done. With the ARC's assistance, State Rep. Hamilton
Upchurch asked the Florida Legislature for a special
appropriation, and TLC was born in July 1986.
To offer your support, to pay for the buildings, specialized equipment, furnishings and other TLC expenses, visit the Web site or call (904) 824-7249. The fundraising goal is $1,200,000.
