Greetings!

Coming to Council November 16

City pension and benefit costs are rising rapidly. The California pension fund (PERS) lost more money in the stock market than their experts expected, and rapidly increasing medical costs and longevity took decision makers by surprise. The City Council, City Manager, and City employees will have to take some very difficult actions. The decision makers and the community need rigorous analysis, clear communication, and realistic expectations. A commitment to collaboration can help us through these difficult times.

November 9:  The City Manager reports good news on follow-up:  Workers' compensation rates decrease 4.3%
