Dear Members & Friends,
FANTASTIC, best describes Buddy Walk of the Valley 2010! We had over 2,000 people in attendance and raised over $85,000!!
We heard from so many of you that this was the BEST Buddy Walk of the Valley yet. And in more ways than one, we agree with you! See below for more details.
I want to say thank you to all of our amazing sponsors! We couldn't do what we do, without your support and many of you support us year-round, THANK YOU!
I also want to commend all of our Team captains! You did a terrific job of building your teams. The on-line registration was fabulous and watching the TOP 10 competition in the final hours was nothing short of amazing! Many of you told us that you loved the "competition". We'll do it again next year and details will be more clearly defined to alleviate any confusion. GREAT JOB, everyone!
With Buddy Walk of the Valley 2010 behind us, we look forward to programs and plans for the remainder of this year and on into 2011.
Our DSAV Family Grant program is open for the fall. Grants of up to $250 are available. Applications must be postmarked by October 15,2010.
The DSAV member Christmas party is scheduled for December 4th. We had such a terrific time at the Assumption Hall of St. Mary's last year; we've booked it again. Entertainment, crafts and of course Santa will all be on hand! So, save the date and look for your invitation coming in November.
We are very excited to announce that in early 2011, Amy Allison, executive director of the Down Syndrome Guild of Greater Kansas City will be in to help kick off SNaP (School Networks and Partnerships). Read about it here.
As your children head back to school, remember, we have many resources ranging from reading & math programs to IEP reference materials available at the Center for Success. Contact the office for more details.
We hope to see you soon at an upcoming DSAV event!
