Those with Down syndrome want to be seen as a Person first, just as you do!

Hello Members & Friends,

I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and were able to take some time to reflect on all there is to be thankful for.

Christmas preparations are in full swing and as you read this we are nearing the DSAV member Christmas party this Saturday, December 5th.

I am looking forward to meeting so many new families who will be joining us this year and of course getting the chance to visit with those we get to see more often.

A recent addition to the 2009 calendar is our first DSAV Storytime being held Saturday, December 12th from 11:00am until noon at the Center for Success.  These fun interactive reading hours will be scheduled monthly and are for any member children who would enjoy hearing some great storytelling and activities.  The December stories include: Guess How Much I Love You, Danny and the Dinosaur and a special Christmas selection.  Please remember, this is not babysitting; a parent must be present!

In an effort to save DSAV funds and some trees, our last paper newsletter will be mailed this week.  The quarterly version will still be available on the Newsletter page of the DSAV website for you to view and print out.  Look for many of the features you are used to seeing in the print version as we incorporate them into our E-newsletter - A Little Something Extra, which comes to you twice a month.

Be sure to check out our upcoming events for 2010 and visit our
website often.

Car seat safety is crucial.

If you have concerns about your child's car seat and/or your child is able to get out of the carseat while you are driving - it is time to have the car seat checked.
