Lockport's newest Tim Hortons is under construction at 6393 Robinson Road, approximately mile east of South Transit Road. The restaurant is expected to open for business in August, 2011.

Construction of the $3.1 million Basil Toyota project at 6157 South Transit Road is currently underway, with completion expected by October, 2011.

Carson's Country Deli and Bakery Expands 

Carson's Expansion

Carson's Country Deli and Bakery, located at the intersection of NY 31 and NY 93 on Lockport's west side, has recently begun their expansion.  Plans include a 1,500 SF addition and drive-through. The restaurant and bakery sells and distributes its locally baked goods to retail outlets in Erie and Niagara counties.

Lockport's Taco Bell, constructed in late 2010 at 5802 South Transit Road, was recently sold to Ranelletti Family Properties of California, for $1.71 million. The 2,806 SF restaurant is located north on the current Walmart/Tops Plaza and opposite Henrich Chevrolet.

International Stone Gallery Acquires Transit Road Location

 

International Stone Gallery, a fabricator and installer of custom countertops, has purchased the former Hadsell Tire facility, and will open a retail showroom at 6251 South Transit Road. International Stone Gallery will expand its current showroom from 500 SF to 700 SF, and will use a portion of the 6,774 SF facility to warehouse its inventory of natural stone, including marble, granite, Zodiaq quartz, Silestone and IceStone. The new Transit Road location is expected to significantly increase retail sales of its countertop products.

Exel Inc. Utilizes Lockport Site For North American Distribution 

 

  Exel Incorporated, headquartered in Westerville, Ohio, warehouses and distributes countertops from its 250,000 square feet warehouse at 4890 IDA Park Drive in the Lockport Industrial Park. The massive warehouse utilizes state-of -the-art technology in its storage and distribution operations.

  When it was constructed in 1990, the original Exel facility comprised 158,500 square feet. In 1999, an additional 91,500 square feet were built. The resulting 250,000 square feet of dedicated warehousing space makes the Exel facility the largest single building in the Lockport Industrial Park. In comparison, the Lockport Yahoo datacenter's administrative center and five data wings total 190,000 square feet. 

  Exel is the North American leader in contract logistics, providing customer focused solutions to a wide range of industries, including automotive, consumer, retail, engineering and manufacturing, life sciences and health care, technology, energy and chemicals.
