Yahoo Datacenter

The Town of Lockport's Yahoo! datacenter, announced in June 2009 and under construction in August, will be recognized as the 'Deal of the Year' by the Buffalo Niagara Commercial Realtors Association at its Ninth Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, February 11 at the 6 PM at the Buffalo Yacht Club.
Yahoo! has retained construction management giant, Structure Tone, to oversee construction of its 180,000 square foot datacenter, which will support Yahoo's Internet service for the Northeast. The 30 acre site in the Lockport Industrial Park was selected following an extensive search of the region.

Business Profile

OL400
Ontario Label Graphics has grown its label imprint business to become one of the leaders in the North American market for quality labels used in applications ranging from food and medical products to transportation industry postings.
Owned by Rick and Rose Verheyn, Ontario Label Graphics began as a one-machine label maker operating from Commerce Square in downtown Lockport in 1991. Today it is an 8-employee, four-machine business which fulfills customers' printing and packaging needs from their modern, one-story facility at 6444 Ridge Road (NY 104), near NY 78 in Wrights Corners.
Rick Verheyn assigns much of the credit for the growth and success of his small business to a business model that combines price, quality and customer service. Rick Verheyn feels that the competitive advantage that Ontario Label Graphics has developed is attributable to maintaining low overhead while making strategic investments in new technology. He points to the company's willingness to commit personnel to provide customer service in related matters, such as the repair and replacement of label applicators, as the type
of "value-added" service that has enabled Ontario Label Graphics to grow its customer base.
Whether it is bar codes appearing on home improvement products sold in Home Depot and Lowe's stores, or it is Bio-Hazard labels placed on pressurized containers at manufacturing facilities throughout the US, Ontario Label Graphics prides itself on being a "green manufacturer", through its use of environment-friendly inks and green paper. As a result, DelMonte Foods and Chili Restaurants, along with radio stations, medical and cosmetic manufacturers are part of a diversified customer base for Ontario Label Graphics.
