Safelite Auto Glass, a leading auto windshield installation company, will open its first Niagara County site on Transit North. Safelite will join Metro Mattress in locating to a new 6,400 square foot building being developed by Alix Development next to Metro's current location at 6263 Transit Road.
 
The Lockport location will be the third Safelite facility in Western New York. Safelite currently operates a store in Depew and a store in Cheektowaga.

Welcome to  the next edition of
Lockport Business Opportunities!  We are pleased to provide you with information about recent business developments in the Lockport area as well as identify opportunities for investment in our community!
Construction at Yahoo! Site
Structural steel is being erected for the administration building at the 180,000 square foot Yahoo Lockport datacenter complex in the Lockport Industrial Park.
 
 
A total of 24 contractors from Western New York have been selected to work on the Yahoo! Lockport datacenter project through the end of September, according to David Kinyon, Lockport IDA Administrative Director.
 
Two of the three prime contracts have been awarded to Western New York companies,  
Lehigh Construction of Orchard Park and Anastasi Trucking of Lancaster. Lehigh and Anastasi have, in turn, selected 22 other suppliers and subcontractors to provide products and services in connection with the 180,000 square foot project in the Lockport Industrial Park.
 
Structure Tone of Lyndhurst, New Jersey is the construction manager for the project. Estimated completion date for Phase I of the project is September, 2010.

Metro Mattress, which operates 35 stores in Western and Central New York, will expand its Lockport retail outlet, relocating from its current space at 6263 Transit Road to a new building just north of its current site. The project is being developed by Alix Development.

 

Metro Mattress has been sharing a building with Signworks since taking over the former Lockport Mattress. The proposed building will be 6,400 square feet. The Lockport store is one of seven Metro Mattress locations in Western New York.
