Introducing New Weight Loss Plan
Did you know???
....that we are participants in national and international studies that may include free medicine and a small stipend?  We are particularly looking for patients with diabetes, atrial fib, erectile dysfunction and hypertension. Call our research department at 336-373-1557.  Ask for Gladys or Elena.   Participate in research, it benefits us all.

HEALTHY TIP OF THE DAY
When not in a hurry, always take the stairs instead of the elevator.  Climbing stairs can burn up to 8 calories per minute!

Drink a glass of ice cold water before your meal.  It takes up space which makes you feel not as hungry and your body has to use energy to warm that water up.  That's a twofer.

Getting enough sleep aids one in losing weight.

Let's talk Hypertension
OK Let's talk

Did you know that a significant number of people do not know that they have hypertension or high blood pressure.

There are many that have high blood pressure that are not controlled. These people are at increased risk for stroke and other cardiovascular events such as congestive hear failure.

High blood pressure is called the silent killer because most of the time people do not feel poorly but the disease is slowly killing them. If you or a friend have high blood pressure make sure you are controlled. Remember the things you do today will buy the future you have tomorrow.

Welcome to our very first issue of The Bland Clnic Connection.  We hope that you will find it exciting and informative.  Our goal is to keep you connected with inside issues, upcoming events and the latest updates on health topics that matter the most to you.  Each BCC will include medical hot topics and tips for healthy living!  We want you to be a part of our connection.  If there are topics that you want covered, let the BCC know.  We are here to inform.
Need to get back into those summer clothes???
measuring waist
Tired of making empty promises to lose enough weight to get back into last summer's swim suit?  First take stock of yourself.  Are you really ready to make the commitment to weight loss.  We need to view it as getting healthy not just looking good. Start by taking small steps.  Look at your diet, make sure you are getting four to five fruits and four to five veggies every day.  Watch concentrated starches such as any of the white breads, potatoes and the sweets.  Next start to exercise.  Walking is a great fun and cheap way of getting the exercise especially when done with friends.  Get running shoes not walking shoes, they absorb the impact of  the walking better.   You must be consistent.  Find a buddy if you can but if not you can do it.  If you need our help we have a new weight loss program available. !  Call 336-373-1557 to find out how we can help you lose those unsightly inches and unwanted pounds.  It's safe, convenient and affordable!  Call for more information.

Remember that losing the weight and exercising will help that blood pressure also.
