The articles this month are to be read with an open mind. There appears to be a feeling of anger, annoyance, impatience and impetuosity in the air. Calmness is most needed.

When Spiritual growth takes place, serenity, quietness, equanimity of which King Solomon speaks is much necessary. We, ourselves watch our every moment and stick to using poise with great dignity, self-confidence and above all self-respect as we can possibly stir up in ourselves.

The articles here are better taught in classes where feelings and understandings can be explored, but few attend classes because of distance, time needed and the fact that what is here is best applied to ourselves before applying it to another. This calls for high self-esteem, self-respect and confidence in one's own sense of worth of which many years of study are needed. Nothing happens overnight, for we have taken years to get where we are and years may be required to undo what we have done as years pass by.

As a teacher I know that it was easy for the parent to blame the teacher as the problem.  I listened to each parent and asked the Power greater than myself how to handle this and what to do.  The answer came.  I began to teach the children that everything I would teach them they already knew, but have forgotten.  I told them that I was simply there to help them remember.

When they heard this and received my words, the doors opened and children (First Graders) began to learn at such a rapid speed that it took everything to keep up with them. The children excelled that year and the remainder of the years that I taught.

Rev. Fred in the field of Neurology said that it is seldom one understands that what is happening is caused by the individual.

We know It is an uneasy feeling to relate to ourselves that we are our own biggest problem.   We say to you to let this year be a year to face Truth and turn our backs on blame.

As you read ask yourself, "What part of this touches me? Is anything here that relates to how I think? How can I rise above this and grow more spiritual in my actions?"

When we ourselves were in SOM Classes (Science of Mind Classes) we were taught that it is unimportant what happens to us, but our reactions to what happens is significantly important. So it is not what happens to us, but how we react to what happens.  If you have a Science of Mind Textbook, you will find much on what actions and reactions play in our decisions and our livingness.

(You will notice in our articles this month, the word "not" is seldom used. When we use the word "not" the Universal Mind erases the "not" and whatever is said becomes what It responds to and gives us an answer. For example: I am not fat becomes to Universal Mind, God, The Father-- I am fat.  State what you desire in an affirmative manner, for Our Father, Universal Mind, First Cause, Our God is positive, affirmative and always says "yes".)

Think for Yourself

May I impart to you to you the "Power of Suggestion." Many use suggestion to make their words come true, but if you are wise, you will think for yourself under the guidance of The Father who always speaks Truth!

At any rate, this is the way it works: Someone will make a prediction of which they may or may not have been paid to tell. You read that prediction or hear it from another. It passes from mouth to mouth, paper to paper, person to person or Internet News to Internet News. As you think more upon what you have heard as it touches something within you, it causes you to actually set in motion the prediction that someone made.

When the time comes for that prediction to come true, happens because you are one of the ones who have been thinking upon it.

Whatever it is that you help to set it into motion visibly, "ding" there it goes. You automatically do what it takes without even giving it another thought. This is why in Shakespeare's Hamlet you fine the words, "To thine ownself be true." When you think for yourself, you use integrity, you use honesty and you are true to yourself. If you follow the words of Hamlet, you will find that you avoid defeating yourself.

It is wise to use everything to educate yourself for the highest good of all concerned. Education is knowledge. King Solomon noted in the Proverbs many sayings that teach you to understand the importance to be fair and just in everything that you do.

Do you know why Education was denied the slaves? It was so that they could control them. When I became so angry when a School District would not hire me as a full time teacher unless I completed 5 years of College Classes, I took classes in everywhere that I could and one year's class that led to a Master's Degree in Reading.

There were classes from TV, evening classes for the Masters, classes at UCLA, a class at Compton College and I don't recall the places, but I recall that Rev. Fred stood in for me for the first night's class while I had to attend our Open House at the beginning of school. He drove wherever we went and study was done in the car on the way to Choir Rehearsal, Church and anywhere else that we went.

My husband and the kids had to have their meals and my attention, there was also 2 Piano Students, teaching in the Public Schools and there was no pay if a day was missed.

In one of these classes the Professor said something like this, "Slaves were denied education because you cannot control educated people. It's in your textbook." A shock to me, because I scanned most of my reading, word for word was never done. Can you believe up my hand went and the question: Where?

Enough classes to make a year and a half were completed, but the lesson was learned- think for yourself. Always get the material, get a wonderful education, learn what you get, know it, meditate upon it, but most importantly--think for yourself! Even Holmes said that we are never to take everything that he has written as the final word. Think upon what you read and seek never to disprove or refute it, but to prove it. We often times seek to invalidate what we heard without researching, thinking upon it or meditating about the things of which we are unfamiliar. Know that the Lord give wisdom to the godly-the devout lover of Him.

Predictions (if accepted free from exploration) are thinking what someone else thinks. It is like a suggestion that someone desires another to follow and never asks if they "may" suggest something giving you the opportunity to accept or reject, examine or look into for yourself. To think for yourself puts the power in your hands.

I Just Want to "Be" Somebody - Part II

This is an elusive title, for each of you already is "somebody". Today, look at the word "somebody" and notice that it contains the word "body". Are you truly aware, alive and alert to the fact that you already have a body?

When the ending of this article comes, you will notice that the word "somebody" will drop away and the statement will become, I Just Want to "Be"!  God Is and "Is", is part of the infinitive verb "to be". So Our Father God is "Being" whatever He so chooses in you and what each of you choose Him to be to you in you and as you.

The "I" is not personalized, for it represents each of us. Thus, each of you is speaking of what you would like to be in this world on this plane of existence.

I, personally, do not know how many parts this will have. It will end when Our Father wants it to end. It is His story, His words to you and to me.

I leave you with these few words for you to think upon and decide what and who you want to be, how you want this wonderful Being to shine through you and to express Itself in life through you.

Remember, you are the only one created like you. To Our Father, you are perfect, special and His wonderful child. Work this month to see through the eyes of The Father, feel through the heart of The Father and hear through the ears of The Father. Let all that you do express Him through you.

That really makes you "somebody".

A Heart Filled with Love Wins

Your attitude drives you to many regions in life and if that attitude is negative, unloving and unkind, it will often lead Good away from you.

The one beautiful thing to remember is this: Whatever you see or say about another you are saying about yourself first. Inside you your subconscious mind has taken these words as a way of life for you, if you will allow us to say it this way.

Most have misunderstood the subconscious and really do not understand that it is what directs your path, your flight, your journey or your voyage in this life. You feed it daily with your beliefs, your thoughts, your words and the way you see things. Some of this is done with great feeling and when that happens, you have set your course. In other words, you have set in motion what you desire to happen in your life.

You have heard the statement, "Be careful what you ask for, you may get it." The thing is that you are constantly asking with every thought you think. That is the way the "subconscious" works. However, your prayers to Our Father work differently. Whatever you desire and want Our Father to answer, there must be a definite, specific "asking". You can never assume that Our Father will answer anything that you have not truly asked for.

When things come to you in which your subconscious has been fed the exact opposite to your wishes, whatever it is that is dominant in your mind is what happens.

Thus, if you truly desire Divine Love, you are to ask Our Father to fill your heart with Divine Love. The way we were taught by Dr. Vetura Papke was this: Go to the mirror and look into your eyes and tell your subconscious mind that everything you have told it in the past are lies. Say, "This is the Truth" and then speak Truth about what it is that you desire to happen.

Your eyes are the "windows to your soul" and in the Scriptures your heart is considered as your soul. Fill your heart with all the Divine Love you can and you will begin to see and feel a difference in your life-a life that can bring winning results to you.

Join us for this wonderful Discussion on Chapter 22 in our SOM Textbook to be held in October 21, 2012 - Finding The Christ

No planned talk or inquiry, just an Opening Prayer, a 15 minute Meditation, the calling forth of His Angels and then a one hour Discussion of questions, answers, clarity of the subject and Spiritual Awareness on "Finding the Christ" which can lead to enlightenment.

When conversing with a fellow student on the steps of the beautiful building of the Institute of The Science of Mind and Philosophy, I recall that student of the First year of SOM Classes saying that she was tired of coming back to this plane of existence.

She made the decision that this would be her last time. Included in that decision was that she would enjoy this life, experience the highest level on the material, soul and Spiritual in life would be done.

However, mistakes were made. The thing forgotten was this: All fixations, illusions, delusions, mental blocks, habits that limit and fears, particularly fear of death must be removed from the conscious mind and stripped away from the subconscious mind. (Understand there is only one mind, but several divisions--ways that it acts)  

It is necessary and essential to waken the Christ within and in order to move to a higher level of living.

Thus, it is beneficial to clarify Chapter 22 in the SOM Textbook-no teaching-just a wonderful Discussion of what "Finding the Christ" really means on the Third Sunday in October.  

This is the way the Disciples taught after the Resurrection of The Lord.  

Those of you who took WSOM III and discussed topics there using Apatow's book, The Art of Spiritual Dialogue learned much on how to dialogue free from jeopardizing your own opinion and yet grew from the experience.  The first five attending will receive this book free. 

What a great way it might be to return to that old way that leads to Power of the mind and soul and to partner to Spirit, team up with It and link up-to truly connect.

Week 1      What Does Fear Do to the Body, Mind, Spirit?

Fear is tied in with anger, hate, guilt and/or worry. The nurses took the blood pressure of one of their patients and it was normal, but it did not meet the requirements of that first nurse. Arrogantly, she stated that the pressure (which was normal) was wrong and called forth 2 other nurses to take it. The patient became angry and of course the pressure zoomed. Her words, "There, that's better." This attitude still follows that patient today.

Week 2      Is There Such a Thing as Vague Subtle Unconscious fear?

Ask questions: Who am I? What am I? Dr. Holmes in the SOM Textbook says, "Know - without a shadow of doubt that as a result of your treatment, some action takes place in Infinite Mind. Infinite Mind is the actor and you are the announcer." (Treatment means scientific prayer)

Week 3      Fear Arises from Mental Attitudes

It is our attitude about life that is important. Your attitude shows what you are and what you believe about yourself and your world. Discover and realize that a pleasant attitude will bring forth pleasant actions.

Week 4      Methods to Raise the Consciousness

Some say that there are those who like to see things as either "black" or "white". There is one thing for sure, all doubt must be cleared from the mind if you want to raise the consciousness. There can never be a compromise with consciousness. God never negotiates or meet us halfway when reaching a higher level of consciousness. This is why some prayers are left unanswered the way we want them answered. 

Week 5      Security that Knows No Fear

The security that leads us to all demonstrations is the release of all doubt and fear, which has many names. This week, we study the Laws of the Universe. There appears to be many because we misunderstand, thus limiting the really only One Law. Therefore, it is to our benefit that we understand what we limit.    

Week 6      Destination Reached and Fulfilled

Are we there yet? A very valuable question. Children ask this question all the time. You can ask The Father, "Am I there yet?" Our answers will give us the Real Truth.
