What Happens If You Please God? Part I

This is a wonderful time to begin this series of articles about pleasing Our Father God. It is Holy Week. The week celebrated from Palm Sunday, the day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem on the back of a donkey and Easter Sunday--the day that Jesus resurrected himself from the crucifixion.

This is a beautiful time of the year, yet there are some who may have other thoughts about it. But what of pleasing Our Father God at this time? Let us understand that the Resurrection has a wonderful Metaphysical revelation about it.

Let us look at some thoughts which you may have had that were not pleasing to Our Father. Thinking on the Negative side of life certainly has no pleasure in it for either Our Father or ourselves.

This is one thing that is wonderful to understand: It does not take a "Holy Week", "Palm Sunday" or and "Easter" to make changes in our life. All it takes is the willingness to want to think differently than what we have done in the past.

These 40 days, which brings us to a culmination of a spiritual growth in our life or a finished experience, can be taken any time. The stories in the Scriptures are simply exercises that show us what happens when we take certain life experiences to grow our character.   Time is always needed to make changes.

It may take many prayers and meditations to understand that when Jesus took his Disciples into the Garden of Gethsemane and then Peter, James and John to pray he was saying that Faith, Divine Wisdom and Divine Love must accompany our prayers. His prayer at that time was not for himself, for he understood what His Father wanted him to do. The hours of prayer were for mankind.

As long as Jesus was with the Disciples, they felt they could do anything and some were arguing who was better than the other. You see, Jesus never did anything unless he got permission from His Father God. He had taught the Disciples how to heal and then how to pray. The only thing left was for them to apply the teachings.

Let us look at this as we look at things. When we study and we believe we have it down "pat", does the thought cross our minds that we may be better than another? Rev. Fred and I hope that is not part of you, but we sometimes forget we are spiritual beings and not human beings.

The Disciples may have thought they were pleasing Jesus. However, Jesus did not want to be pleased. It was His Father that he wanted the Disciples to please. Did he not give them two commandments to obey? The first: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. He said this is the first and great commandment. And second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Just In Case

Living by these three words will bring, peace, poise and, power to you when you understand what you can do to bring peace to your soul, poise to your body and power to your mind.

These three words will bring honor, joy and pleasure to you if you will allow these three words to not only be part of your vocabulary, but allow these 3 words to live within your soul. You will find happiness everywhere you apply - Just In Case. I have lived these three words since childhood as most of my family did. It means that you may not have all the facts or believe in something as true, but you do - Just In Case it is true.

Today, if you have been a student of ours for the Wisdom of Science of Mind, you have heard us use these three words for years - Just In Case. They are powerful and they will keep you on track. When you hear Goodness spoken, wisdom will allow you to adhere to what is taught.

We both applied these words in our early Science of Mind Studies in California. Whenever Seminars, Workshops or Classes about the Bible, Troward or Practitioner Classes we thought might lift, we studied - Just in Case.  We attended - Just In Case something was going to be taught that we may have missed at some time or other. Then we would pray to find out what we learned applied to our life and how we could use it for the highest level for all concerned. We let nothing stop us. We trusted our Minister. We knew these classes would help us to expand in Spirit, Soul and Body.

Body expansion means that the effects of life would give us a healthier body. It would also cause conditions to improve for the better and life would be an all around wonderful and happy experience. In fact, we would have a more positive reception to experiences in life.

It is obvious that no one on this plane of existence lives on an Island. We know that everyone and everything is connected. However, it appears that there are many who may believe, because of the actions we see, that only what each one wants is what matters.

We know that the Scriptures teach many things that are being experienced right today, but we are to understand that nothing, absolutely nothing is carved in stone. The negative prediction in the Scriptures is simply a warning. Our parents give us warnings when they tell us what will happen if we continue down the path that we have chosen. Is not God Our Father-our Heavenly Parent?
