If Religion Works, What Is Blocking My Good?
Part V-September
Disobedience Blocks Our Good
Now that we know it is "disobedience" that blocks our good, what are we to do about it? Do we simply allow it to be a "theory" in our heads or do we allow this to enter the heart strings and really work consciously to bring this obedience full force into our life?
The "wise" person who loves "wisdom" will do just that. That person will begin to study the Laws of the Universe, understand fully what they are and let Our Father take residence consciously into their life.
This is easier said than done, for living and connecting ourselves to Our Father takes courage, strength, loyalty and dedication. It takes what we sometimes do not like - work, but the result is living like a millionaire. We are taken care of by Our Father, guided, guarded and protected by Our Father and deeply, deeply loved by Our Father. It is what is described by Jesus, the Christ-The Kingdom of Heaven.
Does that excite you or what is it is just a little bit of "sin" that will feel better or makes you more comfortable?
We in our Wisdom of understanding The Science of Mind think of "sin" as error, mistakes we make, misjudgments and that kind of thing, but is this not just what you were asking - If Religion Works, What Is Blocking My Good?
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in the Kingdom of Heaven? Do you think it is possible to live in the Kingdom of Heaven on earth?
Our Father always says "yes" to our questions. So let us ask the wise questions always. The first question is: What is the first step to living in the Kingdom of Heaven? He will answer if you ask the question.
The thing is this. Your answer, another person's answer and my answer may be different, for life advances according to our understanding and what we have learned in the past about life and what we are willing to learn now. This is why we sometimes move into the area of: If you are doing something different and we asked the same questions, then I must be wrong.
Your first step may be to go to church and if you already go to a church that teaches Truth, then the first step could be to listen, really listen and practice what you hear or become aware.
You may have wondered which is greater to listen or to hear? When we listen, we pay attention to what is said, we take notice of what is said and unless we first hear, perceive the sound of what is said and then pay attention (listen) to what is said, it appears to go in one ear and out the other. Both are important.
Parents will say to their children, "Did you hear me? Then pay attention." They are asking if you first picked up the sound and if you did, then pay attention to what you heard. Our Father and Jesus, the Christ is saying the very same thing. Ministers, Priests, Pastors, Rabbis are saying the same thing.
That is why reading something out loud may make a difference in your understanding. You first hear it, then you pay attention to what you heard. I like to think of it as this: The hearing is in the head and the listening is in the heart. Unless the two marry, become one, we miss what the sound was all about.
When the heart gets involved, things begin to happen and if the heart is pure, the things that happen are always for joy, peace and harmony.
We know Religion works, because it is a "way of life, of living." Therefore, if you are not progressing as you desire, there is something in your thinking that is blocking your good.
We will continue this series of article on this topic until we reach Number 12.
