Greetings!
An attitude of gratitude is the key that opens the door to Our Father's heart. Are you thankful 365 or 366 days a year or do you only think about it during the month of November?
There are so many things to be thankful for, a smile in passing, the flow of water, the seas, the oceans, fish, peace, unconditional love, joy and the list can go on with pages and pages of things to be thankful for, yet there are so many people unhappy and simply want to be entertained or thoughts are constantly on how to get rich.
Sometimes, it appears that Science of Mind, Religious Science or New Thought has simply raised the eyebrows of many who have translated these principles into "What's in It for Me?" ideas and if one can get rich from it.
These religious organizations that deal with these Principles are speaking about our obtaining oneness of mind that we may unite with this Awesome Spirit that lives within. The true Religious Organizations do not advocate any "get rich" schemes.
There are so many different websites that use these Principles and they are mostly about how to attain wealth-that is the first thought that comes to mind of many.
I was so surprised when going to the Post Office and the traffic was so heavy on Saturday, October 30, no parking spots to be found. I had no idea that Halloween was so celebrated. I thought to myself, "Would these people come out in these numbers if someone came up with a celebration day for God?"
Sad to say, it probably would also be turned into a day of money making. We chase money instead of Our Heavenly Father-Mother God.
On Halloween evening about 8-10 little kids about the age of 4 or 5 years were banging on the door. I finally opened it and told them that we did not celebrate Halloween. They were so cute in their costumes. One little girl just looked at me as if to say, "What are you talking about? Where is my treat, my candy?" I thought, "How many of these kids go to Sunday School?" Do they know anything about God, about His Son, Jesus? Are they thankful for being alive, being able to breathe and giving thanks for this wonderful world in which we all live?"
A mother finally gathered them and they went along.
When God was taken out of the schools, was it also taken out of the homes? Would it be too presumptuous to ask mothers and fathers to remember who and what keeps them alive?
Would it be arrogant to suggest this Thanksgiving before we think about what we are going to have for Thanksgiving dinner and who to invite that we begin this November 1, 2010 and give thanks for 5 minutes each day to the end of the month, November 30, 2010 for the many things for which we are thankful, never duplicating anything? This is a practice that will truly bring wealth-health, happiness, relationships-in fact, prosperity of all kinds.
May Your Heart Be Filled with Gratitude

Article Headline | What Is Our Real Problem? If God created us in His image and after His likeness, gave us authority and dominion over our own life, placed us on an earth with all the herbs and plants needed for health, minerals, gold and silver in the earth for wealth, sent Jesus to show us the way, and gave us free will for happiness, the Bible for guidance and we are still having problems with health, happiness, relationships and wealth, what is our real problem? Do we really accept the guidance that is given us at different times in our lives? Or, do we really think that all this is just something that someone talks about, but there is no proof that any of this is real or true. The answers are to be ascertained and then established in our own mind as to what we truly want to believe because we have been given free choice. However, it is wise to make certain that there are no ulterior motives behind our thinking. For example, I will do this Lord, if you will do that for me and the bribing and bartering goes on. We are instructed that when we pray to make sure that we are not inwardly trying to ingeniously bride God. He cannot be fooled. Truth radiates throughout every cell of our body and every vein and artery of our heart. God cannot be fooled. We cannot pray or even wish for one thing and then secretly within pray or wish for something else. That is bribery, bartering or trying to negotiate for something that has already been set in place by an Almighty Power. In fact, it is disrespect. This is why we are taught to have singleness of mind. In other words, be honest and always think, work and act in integrity. The wisest thing that any of us can do is: - Write out what you are asking for
- Scan your mind to see if you have ulterior motives
- Make sure your emotions are humble
- Ask, "Can I live with this?"
If everything verifies that you are honest in your assessment, using unconditional love and that it uplifts and will enhance your life, then proceed with the prayer. We too often ask quickly before thinking wisely. Let your mind marry your heart in all you do. In Love and Delight, Rev. Pat |

God Loves a Cheerful Giver
Part 2 - (Cont'd from Last Month)
Everyone is busy watching their money, holding it tight and Our Father is looking for the open pipeline that comes from each of His children.
When I was a little kid (I am a big kid now) playing with my younger sister and brother we had a game in which we would drink water from the hose in the yard. It was fun to sneak up to the hose and stop the water from running or turn the faucet off. We made a game of it by filling our mouth with as much water as possible so that we could spurt it out onto the other. Of course, I was caught many times. So you had to have a mouth full of water in order to get the other one wet.
I often think of those days and compare it to Our Father and what happens when the pipeline is closed. The Goodness cannot fill us if we close the pipeline too soon or close it period.
However, when the pipeline stays open, there is so much Goodness that it spills over onto everything and everyone, in all our affairs that bring health, happiness, prosperity of all kinds and makes everything run smoothly. There is so much freedom when we keep that pipeline open.
In reading some of the Unity books and in making a prosperity map the statement, "All doors are open and all channels are free, money, God's Goodness and happiness flows to me." I am not sure if that is one we made up or that part of it came from Unity. All I recall is that it works, for it helps us to keep the doors open and the pipeline free.
In all of this there is a certain amount of "givingness" that goes on. In fact, it embraces the Law of Giving and Receiving.
May Life Be Ever Joyful to You.
In Delight and Love,
Rev. Pat

Feature Article
The world when thinking about our public servants seem to be more concerned about how someone's hair looks or the clothes that they wear, and appears to forget about checking to see what kind of mind our public servants are operating from and with. This is much of the trivia that we read and hear today.
Because we are about "people" and not about a particular "party person", it is important that we all understand what Our Father has taught us through His Son, Jesus the Christ.
Perhaps, you only thought that pollutants harm the body, but they also harm the magnetism of the soul. The body is created to operate in the way of perfection, but if the body is filled with poisons, then the energy is bound to that.
Perhaps, it would be wise to look at the "character" of an individual. From all appearances, it looks as if people in the world forget that today, because it seems as if anything goes and if an individual is not interested in following after "just anything", then something must be wrong with that individual. This is what Jesus was speaking about when he said to not look at appearances.
The question that a wise person will ask is, "What kind of mind does this public person operate from?" It may appear that we cannot do that, but reasoning and insight will bring answers.
First, look at their life; notice if the thoughts are for the highest good of all concerned and what moves them, what motivates them.
Recently, an interview was presented on the Internet of a political person that many dislike and complains about that person's hair and their clothes and other trivial things, but an interesting question was asked, "What is your favorite book?" The answer was, "The Red Book."
I had never heard of that book and neither had Rev. Fred, but immediately went to Amazon.com and found that it was written by Dr. Carl Jung. Response? Wow!
There were 55 readers who gave a rating of "five" to this book. Those reviews were very impressive. Not only about the book, but because a public person was reading such a book. This uplifted our soul, our mind and our spirit. In fact, it uplifted our very life.
Someway, Our Father will bring that book into our life. It is expensive, but a very worthwhile investment.
May you be as uplifted.

Your Ministers in His Service |
